saved login missing

For a couple months now all my saved logins go missing daily, I'll save them & the next they'll be gone again, I already saw about the issue with AVG but I dont use AVG. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this, also is it possible I have a Trojan thats stealing my saved logins?

Profile data can be removed or not recorded in several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings; (In the address bar,
    type about:preferences#privacy<enter>)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Re-enter the passwords. Close Firefox.

Wait a bit for the browser to finish closing. After, Start Firefox in Safe Mode Again.

Is the problem still there?

Are the logins the only data that is lost or does other personal data disappear as well ?

Do you still have a logins.json file in the profile folder that contains login data ?

You can also check the password (Lockwise) report on the about:protections page. You can open "about:" pages via the location/address bar

  • "about:" is a protocol to access special pages
