hi apietz, this is exactly the same crash signature as the known 0patch issue. perhaps your sophos security solution is employing the same methods as 0patch and therefore causing a crash as well. please see if it's possible to exclude firefox.exe from being tampered with within the sophos settings...

otherwise mozilla is planning to release a fix for this crash early next week, which will hopefully address your situation as well.

Is it possible to set the following so they do not hook into Firefox processes? You might not want to do that on the wilds of the web, but for testing to see whether it makes a difference, maybe you can:

  • Hitman Pro
  • Sophos AntiMalware

I made exclusions for firefox.exe in the Sophos console but still get the crash. Sophos Central is still pretty new to us, but I don't think I have that level of control to set the HitMan Pro and AntiMalware so they do not hook into Firefox processes. I'll kepp looking and update this post if I find anything. Thanks for the suggestions!

I installed 74.0b3 (64-bit) and it installed and works fine. I guess I'll just wait for the update next week. Thanks again for the suggestions!
