Firefox says my phone number is not valid

You can't specify a country code (+xx) if that is what you are doing and Firefox only accepts a phone number in your current region. If you use a proxy or VPN then the server might get confused.

Note that you do not need to supply a phone number, using Sync and adding more devices is optional and you can close the tab. Then phone number is only used to send a link to the device to install Firefox on this device, so is not really necessary.
