I used Refresh and now realize my add-ons, extensions and theme have disappeared. There doesn't appear to be any way to add them back. I've followed the guidelines t\suggesting to copy from the Old Firefox Data folder into the current local folders but it made absolutely no difference. I can't use Firefox in this state. Is there some way to return to the version I had an hour ago.

Extensions and themes are not saved after the Firefox Refresh process. Unfortunately, you will need to manually download the extensions and themes again, if they are not in the "Old Firefox Data" folder.

I realize now that Refresh removes all of the customization I'd done over the years to make Foxfire work for me. However, I learned that only AFTER I'd run it. Wish there had been a warning but I'll know better next time.

The second lesson I learned was to to document the add-ons and extensions I use by name so I can find them again. You can't really tell what is in the Old Foxfire folder since the files have cryptic names. Those files appeared to be useless in the restore anyway.

I was most upset about the theme and searched for quite a while before remembering I still have a functional Windows 7 computer using that theme. The entire restore process did take 2 hours though.

Thanks for your response. Foxfire restored to the configuration that works for me now.

Firefox stores information about installed add-ons in extensions.json in the profile folder. If you have more than one profile in the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop then you need to check the ate/time stamps of files in each of the profiles to which is the newest profile.
