hey guys,

there doesn't seem to be an option for this. is there? if there is, I can't find it. see attached image for what I'm doing now. as it stands now, I have to manually push the DELETE button one time for every entry that is in that window for saved passwords. there has to be a better way to do this to get rid of all of them! can you guys help me with this?

Chosen solution

Hello Adam,

Would you do this please :

Type in the address bar :

chrome://passwordmgr/content/passwordManager.xul

Press Enter and maximize the window.

When you highlight an entry you can use the "Remove" button at the bottom left, and you will also see a "Remove all" button.

(you could bookmark this page)

Note that a few Firefox updates from now (probably Firefox version 73) this will change to :

"chrome://passwordmgr/content/passwordManager.xhtml

McCoy's answer works but is there a way we can let the developers know its kind of crap to hide that functionality. There seems to be no reason not to add a remove all passwords option to the main password manager.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Alternatively you can rename/remove logins.json (logins) and key4.db (encryption key) in the profile folder. Clearing key4.db will also remove the the master password, so you will have to create a new master password.

If necessary then you can keep a backup of these two files.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

I tried both original and for newer firefox, copied into address bar, both get same result: Firefox can’t find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/omni.ja!/chrome/toolkit/content/passwordmgr/passwordManager.xhtml.

The code for the old password manager (passwordManager.xhtml) has been removed in Firefox 77, so it is no longer possible to switch to the old layout.

You can look at this mozillaZine thread on how to restore support for passwordManager.xhtml:
