How can I sync a second computer without having to verify sync with an email acknowledement

more options

I have more than one computer with firefox on it and want to sync bookmarks and other settings but other machines do not have mail access. I keep my mail on one computer only. Been burnt by hackers and want to minimize access. Microsoft allows a code to be sent to cell phone for authorizations. Do you have a similar option? BTW how many times are you going to ask for verification on sync. Seems like it happens regularly.

You have to do the email verification. However, you should be able to click the verification link from any computer to activate syncing, not only the one you are trying to sync.

Firefox does that, too; but it is only available when the cell phone is using Sync.

I could click on the link If the mail computer is on and not at the other end of the house or out in the workshop or at work or who knows where and it doesn't time out before I get to it, start it up open the mail app...

You all miss the point, I have absolutely no use for Firefox on my phone, my eyes are bad enough without trying navigate the internet thru the phone screen.

It would be much better if all I had to do was enter a texted or voice mailed code on the other computer. For that matter I feel I should have the choice at the level of my security, not Firefox.

Please consider changing this in a future release.

That's not currently a feature because the Firefox Accounts system doesn't know your phone number. It's also a new level of privacy and there's overhead involved in operating a system that can send out text message codes. It's something that could possibly be added in the future, but it's not a feature at the moment.

For the time being, you will need to use the verification link that is sent via email.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.
