As mentioned, those are active - Restore Previous Session - Warn you when quitting"

Those windows with important tabs (each time) could not be access through "Recently Closed Windows" If I have to restart my mac, I lose all my tabs

This is a major issue for me as this is an important feature that absolutely need to work...

Hi Catherine,

Sometimes having Remember search and form history and Remember browsing and download history unchecked in Options can result in this issue.

You can check these two settings under Options :

  1. Click the menu button in your web browser
  2. Click Options
  3. On the left panel click Privacy & Security
  4. Under History, check mark Remember search and form history and Remember browsing and download history

In the menu you should be able to recover the tabs by accessing the Restore Previous Session in the Firefox Browser menu.

  1. Click the menu button in your web browser
  2. Select Restore Previous Session

Another remedy is by accessing recently closed tabs in the Library

  1. Click the menu button in your web browser
  2. Click Library
  3. Click Recently Closed Tabs

Let me know if I could further assist.

All these were already checked :/

Closed tabs in the Library => I will test it

To help... If I close my window then quit Firefox, I, there is no way to recover it.

In the Brave Browser as exemple, none of the issus above happen (My second default browser on mac)

On Mac things can be more complicated because you can close all open windows, but keep Firefox running with the menu bar visible or minimized to the Doc.

You need to quit the Firefox application with all windows that you want to restore are still opened. If you first close windows and still have the menu bar visible then you can't reopen tabs from the previous session (there might be recently closed windows).

This is a complete and real bummer :(

Why Firefox for mac is always way behing... It f*** suck really...

When a window is closed then you can't restore this closed window easily the next time (History -> Recently Closed Windows might work). Only windows that are open when you Quit Firefox can be restored. Mac is different in this way as it allows to close all open windows and possibly move Firefox to the Dock unlike other platforms where you always close Firefox, but even in this case only the last closed window is reopened if you would use the close X on a window and not close Firefox via the menu to close the application and all open windows and then notice too late that multiple windows were open.

There are some session management extensions you could consider using if the built-in feature does not work well for your style of working. These are the ones I'm aware of that you might investigate/try out:

Use database storage:

Use bookmark storage:

Bookmark storage is more robust in that Firefox backs it up regularly. However, having the extra data show up when you are searching your bookmarks may be annoying.
