When typing on websites such as facebook and on several other sites, if I press the "A" key the focus will be removed from the input box and the next available dropdown box will open with nothing selected. This has been an ongoing problem on Firefox for Ubuntu, I have tried another keyboard and another browser so it seems to only be firefox.

Does this only happen with uppercase 'A' (i.e. Shift+A) or also with lowercase 'a' ?

The Tab key would normally perform this action to cycle through specific elements, so it is possible that this 'A' key is mapped to the Tab key.
