Is there a good way to report a safety or accessibility bug?
Hi,
I am photosensitive, and encounter a lot of safety and accessibility problems online. I have configured Firefox to try to block as many strobes and other dangers as possible, but I am not an expert, I haven't found enough solutions, and USERS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE EXPERTS TO USE THE WEB WITHOUT MIGRAINES AND/OR SEIZURES.
I have posted a bug about one of these problems. It was "resolved invalid" because I should report an "accessibility bug," instead of reporting an accessibility bug.

I know there'sa an underlying refusal to make it possible to use the web without injury, because:

If there were a safe browser, I'd use it, but there isn't.

Hi, Yes know it is difficult for some. You can use Help --> Submit Feedback which will be reviewed by a team.
I do not know what Mac offers, but Windows using High Contrast gives a black theme to everything text can be changed, Firefox if use Dark Theme with Dark themes extensions (you would need to search) and change the text colour by overriding default. Gives some people relief. Along with the built in blue light thing like F.lux you can dim the pages.
May want to contact https://www.accessfirefox.org/ and see what they have to recommend.
If not done already in userChrome you can turn off Firefox animations and make tool bars and menus different colours, ask.

As you were told in that Bug report here - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1472345#c3 -"Preferences are not a public configuration interface. If there are settings that you need that aren't exposed outside of preferences, please file an accessibility bug."
IOW, you filed that Bug incorrectly, it needs to be refiled as an accessibility bug.
My advice is to contact Accessibility Firefox, as Pkshadow advised, and see if they can help you. https://www.accessfirefox.org/
Beyond that, if you're not inclined to refile your Bug correctly contact Mozilla directly via the Help > Submit Feedback ... menu item inside Firefox. Provide them with links to all the SUMO postings that you have started over this issue and see if someone from Mozilla responds to you via email.
Note that if you make changes to prefs then best is to ask at this forum to be sure you do the right thing. Modifying prefs without really knowing what you are doing can cause all kind of unknown issues. We had this in the past for network.http.accept-encoding that was somewhere advised to set "true".

I still have no idea what that means. Note that Bugzilla does not *allow* users to file a bug as an accessibility bug-- users have to change the bug after filing.
Use css is inadequate, since it takes so long to load.
High contrast worsens symptoms. Red light also worsens symptoms, so f.lux is a problem.
This is not the place to argue about the resolution of bugs. You were given instructions on how to file a bug, if this is something that is important to you please do so.
