Apparently Google does not want me to have Firefox as default browser. Going through all the hoops, at one point I received confirmation that Firefox IS my default browser. But I still get *&^%$#!@#$ make Firefox your default browser. What is going on????

HI, I would think you may want to bookmark this for the future as can always do a install over top with a Full Version Installer :

Please open Windows 10 Settings --> Apps --> Default Apps and find Web Browser in the page. If Firefox is not the Default please Click the Icon of the Browser that is and find Firefox in the list and click it to set it.

If it is not there, you may have to try to find IE11 and make it rather than Edge or Chrome the Default and toggle back and see if Firefox is in the list. If still not Install over top and reboot.

But before you do (may want to keep this bit for use ) : Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin). Copy/Paste : DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then Enter and reboot after it fixes registry and corrupted files by downloading new one if it has to.
