Though it opens Google search by default on my Windows XP firefox browser, when I type matter for searching, it searches and opens yahoo web page. I had signed up some pop-up free movies site after which I started facing this problem. My anti-virus didn't find and malware.

Chosen solution

Try to change the default search engine from settings - http://mzl.la/1VSkUwR And if this doesn't solve the problem reset firefox- https://goo.gl/9iH8U1
