How to change colour of scroll bar as grey on grey is hard to see?

How to change colour of scroll bar as grey on grey is hard to see?

Chosen solution

Styling scroll bars requires "AGENT_SHEET" style sheets for full permissions and userChrome.css works as "USER_SHEET" and can't style scroll bars. You probably used the Legacy version of Stylish previously.

The website you are referring to uses a special hack to bind a CSS file to a toolbar button that allows to use the Style Sheet Service to style the scroll bars.

  1. Go to the right hand side of the screen and click the menu.
  2. Scroll down to Customise (it has a paintbrush next to it to mark it out.
  3. Then go to Themes near the bottom left.
  4. Click it and you can select a new Theme.

That should do the trick to change the scroll bar's colour. Hope this helps.

Themes don't seem to change the scroll bar.

Strange, they do for me. Dark Theme changes the tab section to black, Search Bar to Grey and the lower/surrounding area to a darker grey. So basically from top to bottom its:

  • Black
  • Grey
  • Dark Grey

Default changes things to:

  • Black
  • White
  • Dark Grey

Light Theme which changes it to:

  • Grey
  • White
  • Grey

Maybe you should try Default or Light Theme? That or try one of their Recommended Themes like Renaissance or something, as they change the image behind the layers up top noticeable.

I dunno man. The themes make a noticeable change for me. Maybe check your monitor settings as well. Perhaps it something with your monitor itself and note Firefox.

Firefox would normally use the operating system settings for the appearance of widgets like the scroll bars, so maybe try a different theme in Windows to see if you can find one that looks better.

First comment here lets me change the color to anything I want. And I tested and it works, unlike changing themes.

Here is the question why dosen't Firefox have any settings for this even some thing like a advanced setting.

To cor-el this is your program make a option available. I was able to change this before with a add-on but now I have to go messing with the userChome.css file to get anything changed. Very messy just to change one little thing.

Is it really that hard to give a option to change color somewhere?

Do I have to learn how to make my own themes?

Cor-el refers to AGENT_SHEET. Is this still a valid add-on (if it is an add-on) for making scroll bars coloured? I really struggle to understand why so current OSs and software has such low contrast. It's slightly amusing that the heading "How to change colour of scroll bar as grey on grey is hard to see?" is grey on grey.

Thank you.
