This fake update scam has existed since mid last year and is well known by Mozilla. The sites the scammers use are disposable as they are used for a day or so before another site is used. The same sites are being used for a similar fake update page for Google and I have seen at least one instance of a fake Adobe Flash Player page to show they are not doing this to just Firefox and how elaborate this is.

As you can see in this thread, Mozilla is aware. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/712056
