How do you register so that you can post on the Support forum? I have a possible solution to the "fake firefox-patch.exe/firefox-patch.js" problem.

How do you register so that you can post a reply on the Support Forum? I see a Logon option but no option to register. I wanted to post a reply to the "sites serving fake firefox-patch.exe/firefox-patch.js list and discussion." topic. I have been seeing the fake update page for both FireFox and Flash for about two months. Knowing that this was not how FireFox or Flash updates are delivered, I did not click on the fake pop-up box. To try to stop the face pages from appearing, I did a FireFox reset, but it did not have any effect and the update screens continued to appear about every other day. About two weeks later, I was looking at the FireFox options after a "real" FireFox update and I noticed that there was an entry in the "The following websites are allowed to store data for offline use" box on the Options/Advanced/Network page that I was not familiar with. I deleted the unfamiliar URL and since I did so, the fake update page has not appeared. This was about two weeks ago. This may just be a coincidence, but I wanted to post my experience in case it may help others that are having the problem.

You apparantly did register here,   cause:   here you are   !
Good for you not to fall for these fake updates and you have been doing some really good thinking there   !!! And that could work,   if these scammers didn't change their URL on a daily basis.
You could consider an add-on blocking extension, such as:
http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/addon/ublock-origin
When you see a fake update, if at all possible, would you add a post to this thread mentioning the genuine website you were on when this fake update appeared  ?   The 'back-arrow'  on the address bar might help you find it.
