How to recover lost session data
Hello
I have accidentally closed some of firefox windows which contained around 100 active tabs and there has been a restart on the computer. Now I am unable to restore the previous closed session.
I have somehow recovered the sessionstore-backup files from a couple days ago with the help of data recovery software. I have tried replacing the recovery.js and previous.js files in my current folder at
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\sessionstore-backup
But this still doesn't work. Please help me with this. That window contained some of my very important tabs.
Thanks in advance Laiq

You do not need to use data recovery software. Immediately backup your Firefox profile (note its seissonstore contents). I would normally also suggest you create a new additonal profile you can do that easily from about:profiles Just key in to the adressbar about:profiles press enter, then use the option to create a new profile. I strongly recommend you do NOT try using the Remove or Rename options in about:profiles
You may experiment with recovering your 100+ tabs in the new profile using copies of files from the backup profile without risking losing more information.
There is also an option to create a list of tabs as clickable links from the sessionstore file, it is not totally straight forward and may take say 10 minutes to read about how to do it but only a couple of minutes to do it.
Rather than copying out the information can I ask you to read a some of the comment in another question =>
