Why do I get fraudulent Firefox update invites?

Several times this month, i have received this website redirect while browsing: https://ahahxradionacional.org/7841270294902/c4db11274f87c9058bef251f31953527.html I assume it's fraudulent and probably an invite to download malware, disguised as a Firefox update. How can i block such sites?

uBlock Origin has proven to be effective at blocking garbage like that. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
