Hello everyone:

I have a big issue with Firefox; the browser crashes several times during the day. I re-started it, re-installed it but nothing works… I use Mac OSX 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion).

Thanks so much for your time!

. . . . the browser cracks several times during the day . . . .

I think you mean 'Crashes.'

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

Where did you get the information in your post?

P.S.: Here is the crash code: AdapterDeviceID: 0x062e AdapterVendorID: 0x10de Add-ons:

First, @FredMcD, thanks so much for your help! I changed the title of the post.

I got the code clicking on "Details" when the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" popped-out… I don't why the section is empty then.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @FredMcD, do you think that we could find some solution? Its very annoying when I'm writing an email or a post and suddenly the browser crashes… I really want to continue using Firefox.

HI FredMcD and Halman,

I understand that there is a crash. The first crash is actually one of the crashes that a bug has been opened and is looking for more information. First apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

Second, the reference that I got with some help https://wiki.mozilla.org/Platform/Uptime#Bad_OS.2Fdrivers.2Fhardware there are two suspicions that philipp helped me with. The first is that you might have a pending update with the operating system as well as the second you might have corrupt memory or hardware.

In order to diagnose this, try to disable hardware acceleration by starting it in Safe Mode: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode does it stop?

Also the updates or diagnositics you can run on a mac will require the installation cd of the operating system. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202731

Please post back with your results, we can eliminate these issues and get some steps to reproduce into that bug.

Hi @guigs:

Thanks so much for your help and time! Hardware and iOS seem OK, but here comes the big deal: I'm using Mountain Lion. Maybe Firefox 47/48 is not working properly just like Safari 8…

To be honest, my Mac is from 2008/2009 but works amazingly plus I've been using Firefox as my main browser form years and years ago… So is there any chance to install an older but bold version of Firefox?

Thanks in advance!

Hello:

So, is it possible to install a previous version of Firefox as a solution of the problem? What do you think about it?

Thanks in advance!

You can use the prior version that worked for you.

Look for the directory of the version that you want. Install an older version of Firefox {web link} But remember that old versions may have security issues.
