Hi,

I am unable to print specific pages within firefox 44 and previously 41. These are mostly webpages from within my school system. Any time I try to print or check the print preview, all the content on the page is blank.

I went through all the trouble shooting on Mozilla support including 'Fixing printer issues in Firefox' and even went as far as doing a clean installation of Firefox (removing all files and user files tied to firefox). None of these helped the issue. I thought that it could be an add-on or my antivirus software. I went ahead and disabled those too and it fixed nothing.

I have isolated this issue to firefox as it does not happen in the latest versions of Safari, Chrome, or IE.

Any thoughts on what it may be?

If Print Preview is also blank, then Print Edit isn't very helpful...

There are some style rules which Firefox can render properly to the screen but which it cannot paginate correctly. Such problems are difficult to diagnose without "hands on" the site.

Often a site provides a printable view with a simplified layout, advertised by a link or a printer icon. If not, could you check for these issues:

(1) Framed web page - if you right-click the page and see a "This Frame" item on the menu, click that and try Print Frame to see whether that works any better

(2) Embedded PDF - if there isn't a separate toolbar with a PDF-specific print icon, try opening the PDF outside of the browser or in its own tab

If neither of those is relevant, one common workaround is to select all of the content and then try to print the selection (Ctrl+a followed by Ctrl+p, and click the Selection option under Print Range).

Otherwise, you could try to get help from the site's webmaster.

Thanks a lot jscher2000. This solved the issue. Wish it wasn't so cumbersome though.

If your school can provide a login to study the problem, maybe someone can come up with a better solution, but there may be privacy issues with doing that...
