How to disable oneoff buttons in latest firefox

more options

I had used the about:config to disable the one off buttons because i think they are completely stupid and i HATE them, too much clicking, i have to click every time i want to search on something thats not google, and i hate clicking! I opened firefox today and the buttons reverted back to normal, so i checked and it was still set to false. I refreshed firefox and now the setting is completely gone, do i have to roll back my firefox, just to get the old interface i love? thats what i like about firefox was the fact that they let you use it the way you want, and I am surprised if they removed the option totaly. Is there a way to get it back? Firefox: 43.0b3 Windows 10

Support for the 'classic' search bar has been removed in Firefox 43.

What was your previous approach to selecting a different search engine -- Ctrl+arrow?

In the new panel, you can still use that key combination, or if you don't want to modify your default, you can tab to the icon you want and press Enter when it's selected.

To maximize efficiency, you can move your most commonly used one-off buttons to the beginning and remove the ones you never use. These are set on the Options page, Search panel, in the large box.

Someone else mentioned switching to Google Maps search, so that is shown in the attached example screen shots, but the same method of keyboard navigation should work for any site you like to use now and then.
