Hi, I Googled 'firefox' and found the following: Mozilla Firefox Download - safe-downloading.com @ http://www.safe-downloading.com/manager

I downloaded, firefox2030.dmg... Oops

It has these links: http://ds.installmac.com/api/download/299490007/firefox2030.dmg, http://www.downloadsable.com/pd/505/1276/

...under getInfo from the dmg (I looked after...)

I did install but i didn't accept any add-ons... it didn't look right when opened the firefox2030, and something about fix your PC?! So I found the real Mozilla site and downloaded and overwrote the other FireFox with Mozilla Firefox 36.0.1... everything *seems* okay now but is it?

My questions are: was the firefox2030.dmg just bogus (ads and stuff) or safe (old version) or really bad; and what do i need to do to my Mac, 10.10.2, to be safe going forward if I want to use FireFox from Mozilla? I have the Mozilla Firefox 36.0.1 installed and it "seems" to be okay, but is it?

 :-( sorry

Ps Not sure where to post this... Pps currently on Safari...

Please always download firefox from www.mozilla.com

There are repackaged version of firefox with various addons floating around internet, Its hard to tell if they contain viruses.

You may want to use an AV software and a Anti-Malware software to see if the system if okay. (Despite what Apple claims, OSX is not immune to problems).

This was very likely one of the Google Ad links above the Real search results. These sites are taking advantage of the Firefox popularity and catching those who are not careful.

Official Mozilla urls will usually lead to a *.mozilla.org url including the above mozilla.com since .com links is not used any more.
