Okay, here's what just happened. I go to type up an email response , i usually go Ctr+A to select the entire text when i'm responding and i click the Space button to clear it, and firefox crashed. Now.. that's never happened before and it kept happening everytime i tested it. Has that come up before? What could be making that happen?

everytime i do an adwcleaner scan ,there's a few issues that it finds and then every time i do it, the same things come back again

Please be Very careful with Adwcleaner. I have caught my program trying to remove programs that I want and even paid for.

As to the same files showing up again and again, Those files were created by something. What the file is, and where it was found may help you find the cause. However, as stated above, it might be something you want.

After every Adwcleaner scan, or for that matter any scanning program, go thru the list to make sure that you don't lose something you want.

So i googled it and this showed up: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker/reviews/622150/

Here is the English page. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker/reviews/622150/

No i see it in english, my point is he doesn't explain what to do about it.

Like i said, i only installed this youtube unblocker add on months or more ago, so i don't have the addon ,but this xfree script is still on every site apparently

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Okay, Do you need me to post the reports?

No, just let us know if the problems are still there. Remember to re-boot.

I understand that the malware did not detect anything and that you are using Avast and have tried the others. After resolving the crashes I understand that its just the xfreescript is still an issue.

Running Firefox in Safe Mode will help determine if its an add on. Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode as I understand that only one computer is affected by this second issue?

Well I consider xfreescript sort of a malware ,and i had removed the add on (that most probably brought this script/malware on) month ago ,but the issue is probably still there, so i don't know if i have gotten rid of that script/malware.

But the first issue that i began this thread with ,that has to do with firefox crashing when i click space to clear out the graphics when responding to an email within abv.bg is still valid and doesn't stop when i go into safe mode or when i clear out cookies and cache and then go into safe mode.

I talked to Patrick about this one because I was a bit stumped. There were two things mentioned to try to make sure that there was no corruption of the profile or if it was fixed in beta.

Please try the following:

  1. Create a new profile Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles does it still happen?
  2. Does this still happen in Firefox beta? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/

Thank you for the reply guigs2. I found a few malwares ,so i've been trying to fix them first and then i will try what you said.

So the point is to make a new profile and see if it happens within that profile? And the firefox beta test is a completely different test ,it has nothing to do with the profile test?

Thank you again.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

Hm , i just posted about something like this in my other thread

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1038175?page=3

This operation failed due to a file access error: Component returned failure code: 0x8007000e (NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY) [nsIScriptableUnicodeConverter.convertToInputStream](NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY) backup.session Private.writeFileNext@chrome://sessionmanager/content/modules/session_file_io.jsm:1796:14 Private.writeFile@chrome://sessionmanager/content/modules/session_file_io.jsm:1770:2 Private.backupCurrentSession@chrome://sessionmanager/content/modules/session_file_io.jsm:1335:0 this.SessionIo.backupCurrentSession@chrome://sessionmanager/content/modules/session_file_io.jsm:154:9 Private.shutDown@chrome://sessionmanager/content/modules/session_manager.jsm:1274:44 Private.observe@chrome://sessionmanager/content/modules/session_manager.jsm:350:5 https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Errors NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY (0x8007000E) This error occurs when there is not enough memory available to carry out an operation, or an error occurred trying to allocate memory. I actually do have enough memory to save pretty much anything mozilla would try to allocate.

But maybe this is somehow related to some of these tabs issues. I don't want to delete my sessions though at the moment ,because i still have a lot of tabs that i haven't cleared , its a work in progress. I also do use the session manager addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/session-manager/?src=search

By the way, when i say "graphics" ,that's usually banners i would assume, i just see the pictures, so i say graphics.

To summarize, the error seems to only happen in firefox (doesn't in IE) and only when i click space (doesn't happen when i click on a letter) and inside abv.bg (doesn't happen in yahoo) and is not related to addons (happens in safe mode) and is related to banners (maybe scripts?)

Hi shadyz, you said

There's also another thing that happens, when i go to the context menu , and i click on to forbid a script with the Noscript addonn for any website i am on, suddenly all my tabs start refreshing and loading , and i have 200 of them,so it can't be that i have the same script running on all of them

You can modify your NoScript settings so that it does not automatically reload the tab after you make permission changes, but you can manually reload when you're ready. If I need to make changes for several servers all at once, I find this way to be faster. Or often I don't need to reload the current page because I'm going to follow a link to a different part of the site anyway.

Hi shadyz, is the long list of crash reports on the first page of this thread associated with the spacebar issue? Did you test pressing the Delete key instead of the spacebar?

The first ten reports all have the same crash signature, which seems related to computing a change in the size of the range or selection. Apparently something about the way the content is being deleted is causing unexpected failure in that part of Firefox. It could be that the way that particular message is constructed was not accounted for. Unfortunately, there are no bug reports linked to this crash signature, so I don't have a lot to go on in how to avoid this, but my suggestion would be the delete in smaller blocks, such as individual paragraphs.
