If I type in a search it will give me a page but will time out when I try to go to the site. It will time out when starting, will not go to my homepage. No problems that I noticed before Mask program install.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

I tried that and I still have the problem. I have used flagfox and cool previews for a couple years with no problems before.

Thanks but did not work. Strangely it seems the only site that works is the lottery site. I did get a different message once trying your method. "XML Parsing Error: unexpected parser state Location: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/browser/omni.ja!/chrome/browser/content/browser/aboutneterror/netError.xhtml Line Number 309, Column 50:"

It will try to connect for about a minute then shows message. "The connection has timed out

The server at maps.google.com is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

Explorer still works but I prefer Firefox

Timed out again. Explorer works, Chrome works. I found that I can get to Ohio lottery site and Firefox start and support page and if I type in the search bar I can get a group of sites to go to but I can't open any of the sites. They all time out. I have transferred my favorites to Explorer but I prefer Firefox.

You may have to reinstall with your antivirus temporarily disabled: In response to the xml parser error:

  1. Delete any downloaded or partially downloaded installer files.
  2. Clear the browser cache (of whatever browser you are using to download FF) and the Windows Temp directory.

Note: make sure to Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles then Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

  1. Shutdown any anti-virus software you are running.
  2. Download a new copy of the full installer from www.mozilla.com
  3. Run the installer.
  4. Restart the anti-virus program.
