inserted CD will not read, no icon on the desktop
When I insert a CD no icon appears on my desktop and within a short amount of time the CD ejects on its own.
I am unable to put things in the trash.
This site tells me that my system doesn't meet the requirements to run firefox (as I try to update, after being told my firefox is out of date). I have Mac OS 10:8.

Hello Marilyn, you CAN NOT update to latest firefox your 10.5 mac, because the latest firefox version for your os (10.5) is the version you already have 16.0 (to be specific 16.0.2), see : Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.5
you need to update your os to at least 10.6 mac to update firefox to latest version (today 2 oct 2014) 32.0.3, see : Firefox 32.0.3 System Requirements

Inserting a CD? What's the relation with Firefox? If you have some OS issues maybe you should try to find some help on a support forum about Mac OSX.
