Is there an API for Firefox to search for certificates in the certificate storage of Firefox?

I am trying to find an open-source-API available to search for a specific certificate issued by a given issuer within my certificate storage. Do you know something that could be of help for me?

The db should be cert8.db and this can be accessed with a db reading software. To be sure: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data

These are the tools https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d.../Tools#dbck

I do not know if there is an api. Try MDN.
