When I click on firefox and the page comes up, the search box at the top (the one to type in a website address) disapears and there is no way to close the page

Once I am on a web page the toolbar and everything at the top of the page goes away including any way to close the page. I cannot go to any other website as there is nowhere to type in a web address. Any suggestions welcome! Thank you for any help you can give me in advance. Acacia Morrison
