How do I restore lost passwords lost after a Mozilla update? 21.0

Mozilla required me to update this morning. Ver 21.0. Afterwards, I had no bookmarks or passwords. I figured out how to restore my bookmarks, but so far, no luck with passwords.

Hello limom, can you see your password in password manager ? see: Viewing and deleting passwords

no, password manager is empty. That's the problem.

Try to create a new profile and then transfer form your current profile the key3.db and signons.sqlite files.

Did you try to reboot the computer?

Did Firefox create a new default profile or did Firefox perform a reset?

A reset will move the current profile folder to an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Open Directory)
