Windows 11 - Thunderbird 148.0

In received message bodies previous replies are blank. If I select and drag an area in the desired reply the content of the reply magically appears. I've attached two images of this behavior. What setting may be causing this?

That looks like the original author set their font to white, white on white is not visible without a highlight which the mouse action offers.

Yes, but when I copy the email to another email account, the reply shows perfectly visible.

Check Thunderbird settings > General > Reading & Display > Plain text messages

What color is set for quoted text?
