Drag and drop broken / mouse cursor not reacting
On Ubuntu, drag and drop has broken for me. My mouse cursor does not seem to react to different types of content, like hovering over links. My main problem is that if I highlight a piece of text, or some other content block on a page, and drag it, it does not work as smoothly as it should.
Has anyone else experienced this recently?
I find closing Firefox helps temporarily but within 10-15 minutes the same problem occurs.
I have re-installed Firefox and I am running the latest version. I haven't experienced the problem in Safe Mode.
It only occurs on Firefox and is browser-wide.

It's also worth mentioning that I find ESC helps "unstick" the mouse cursor
Are talking about highlighting text and then dragging it? see screenshot What desktop? X11 or Wayland?
Did you try Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#search104
Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla. Download, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
