Why is Firefox using so much ram? I tried some of the suggestions in the help column, but they don't help. I have to close out the browser and restart it to get the memory usage down. It never used to do this. This has been happening since one of the two last updates.

It used to average 400 to 500 MB's of ram, with one or two websites open. Now, after i restart the browser, it will use up to 1.5 to 2 Gigs of ram. This is just with 2 websites open. I am using Win 10 anniversary edition on a Dell desktop pc. The pc has 8 Gigs of ram. I used to have this problem w/ IE 11. Microsoft fixed it w/ a win 10 update and a new graphics driver for their Intel graphics unit. Because of their problem when i got this pc, i switched to Firefox and that solved it, until the last update from Firefox. Thanks for the reply

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?
