Every time I try to access a website using my bookmarks, they don't work, i.e., nothing happens. I have tried numerous bookmarks to be sure that it is not one or two where the web address has changed. I am considering uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to see if that will over come the issue.

From my point of view Firefox is normally excellent and definitely my browser of choice. So this problem has come as a bit of a surprise.

When I reinstalled Firefox, my categorized bookmarks were no longer visible. I re-categorized them using "Manage Bookmarks" and it was then Bookmarks Menu. But when I opened Firefox to use it, there was no "Bookmark Menu" and only "Bookmarks", where they appear but not categorized. Where do I find "Bookmarks Menu"?

Firefox iOS 152.3 (73911) default bookmark folder names aren’t always displayed correctly. If you access your bookmarks you correctly see “Unsorted Bookmarks”, “Bookmarks Toolbar” and “Bookmarks Menu”. However, when you go these folders, the title changes to “unfiled”, “toolbar”, and “menu”.

I have not been able to easily access my bookmarks easily like before. I have multiple bookmarks by category, but there does not seem to be a way to access the different categories currently. I have Windows 11. I have the most current firefox browser I think. I did find from searching support that I could type Ctrl Shift O and scroll down which gives a long list to try to access them, but that is very cumbersome and slow. Do I have to do that every time I want to go to specific bookmarks? The bookmarks that show on the overflow or near the top of the screen are not useful, but the ones I use every day cannot be accessed easily, but are way down a long list. Why is the current version hiding all the bookmark categories?

In `policies.json`, I use this:

However, when typing `curl` into the address bar, the bookmark is not suggested. When I visit `curl.se` and manually add it as a bookmark, Firefox does suggest it in the address bar afterwards.

Is there a way to replicate the latter behavior with the former mechanism? The Bookmarks policy did this, but it appears to be deprecated.

Once upon a time, back in the dawn of history, we all remember "Netscape", the "Anti-explorer", which kept us all free from the micro$oft virus and also reasonably sane.

Back then, you could "bookmark" interesting stuff you found in a list of links. This was kinda handy for people like me who have a memory like dorey's (from finding nemo...)

Therefore, I'm wondering why the so-called "bookmarks" functionality in firefox is now completely useless ?

Due to it's completely useless nature, I ultimately have started a text file called "bookmarks.txt". When i need to bookmark something, i copy the dang address from my browser pane and paste it into the bookmarks.txt file.

It is somewhat clunky , but it is a hell of a lot better than the so-called functionality given in the browser.

Would be interested to get the community's feedback on this point.

Am I stupid, or, do I have a point ? And why is the bookmarking so useless anyway ? Let me know your opinions , folks.

Im looking for deleting an bookmark directly from search list. I have a lot of bookmarks organized in folders, its not so easy to find it on normal way, so it will be very easylier deleting in searchlist. Best regards, Meik

I have a bookmark that keeps replicating itself in my list of bookmarks. I must have 300 of them and it's starting to impact my performance.

In the newly released 157, the drop-down menu on the Bookmarks sidebar is missing. This prevents you from switching between sidebars unless the vertical sidebar menu is open, a real waste of real estate. The other sidebars, such as History, retain their menus. If you have the History sidebar open, and use the drop-down menu to switch to Bookmarks, now you're stuck--the only way out is to activate the "Customize sidebar" vertical menu and go through the processes to open the History sidebar.

Yes, there is a workaround: the History button. But this does not have an integrated search box, and the same sorting capabilities.

Why is Firefox losing my bookmarks? They're being replaced with a little globe, and they don't work. Also, yesterday's history was lacking at least two-thirds of the sites I visited.

I've been having this problem for about 10 years. It was raised in this thread but never solved.

When I launch Firefox, several recent bookmarks that had been at the bottom of a folder have moved to the top of the folder.

I downloaded Firefox browser just a few days ago. During that time, I saved some website addresses in my Bookmarks but today when I went in to look at my bookmarks, all of them were gone!

Could you please help me solve this problem? I usually use bookmarks all the time.

When I try to save a new URL, Web Page, by clicking on the "Star" on the tool bar menu, then selection my existing folder for my chosen location it is not saved, at least most of the time. It is however saved under Recently Bookmarked and is also in Manage Bookmarks. I can force it to save by selecting Bookmarks Menu. It then is at the bottom of all my saved folder. I then can copy and paste into my folder of choice. What do I need to do to make it save to the folder of choice immediately?
