As in subject I changed a control and do not understand the symbols on top plus need to get unread messages first and do not want sent messages in a tier that is to the same person. thanks

I have a large number of message filters which divert messages to folders on Subject. So messages I sent were diverted to those folders on sending. Mea Culpa

Emails I send to a X@yahoo.co.uk are not saved in my default sent folder. I have checked the setting in Account Settings. If I send to Y@other CC X@yahoo.co.uk , the message does get saved. I am using POP to send/receive emails.

This seems to have started in December 2023.

I am using Thunderbird 115.8.0 running in Debian Buster.

Is there a hidden interface flag/control to adjust if (or how quickly) the spring-loaded folders pop open? On the old MacBook Pro my wife uses they spring open immediately, pushing the mailbox she wants to drop the selected messages into up and down out of view and often the messages drop into some random folder and she has to go looking for where they wound up.

There are two problems i found out in in newer version of thunderbird.

1) When we try to forward message, we never get space to write and it comes with different fonts and preformat, when we click it to Body text it comes with preformat automatically without our given command to Body text. Kindly fix it so we could use more comfortably.

2) When we get email sent by ourselves we click on edit as new see 2nd pick, when we click from 2nd account, signatures comes from new account, in previous version when we use CTRL Z, signature's were vanished, so we were more comfortable with that version, see pick 3 and now we delete manually which comes with extra space.

I previously commented on same but no response. Could you please able to solve this issue?

Today Thunderbird began to display e-mail in a very different way. E-mail is now being displayed in two (top and bottom) panes on the left. There had been only one before. The top pane seems to have very extensive "Header"(?) information I am able to scroll through about 80 lines. The bottom pane has just the e-mail text.

When I print the e-mail all the Header Lines print followed by the text. I have PDFs displaying the problem but am not able to send PDF files. How do I convert them to images

Where is the setting to stop the display and printing of he "Header" information. I have no memory of doing anything that might have caused the new display

I finally took the plunge after 21 years of Outlook v2003. I have Tbird mostly set-up to my liking with some chrome css customization's.

What I am trying to do now is see if there is anything i can do with the message composition formatting toolbar.

Primarily I would like to move the "Link, Anchor and Image" icons out of the drop down and have them stand-alone.

I see that i can move the borders and create more room vertically but i cannot find any toolbar addons that would give more icon choices etc or a way to move those from the drop-down?

On my previous Macbook, I had set up a printer workflow that let me attach a PDF to a new Thunderbird message. It worked the same way as Send to Mail, but started a new Thunderbird message. (Print > PDF > Send to Thunderbird.) I seem to recall doing something in Automator when I set it up years ago, but for the life of me, I can't remember what. That Macbook drowned in January and was unsalvageable, and that workflow which I used constantly, was lost.

I just spend two hours scouring the internet, both Thunderbird- and MacOS-related sites, with no luck. Yes, I know I can save to PDF and then add it to a new outgoing message, but I had it setup so I could do all of this in one step from the system print dialog, and I do this frequently enough that I really want that functionality back. It's not as simple as dragging Thunderbird.app into the PDF Services folder; I've tried that.

Does anybody have this working on their Mac?

Hi, I got problem with fonts in Thunderbird. I set all fonts to: Roboto and system font to Roboto Light but every new email have bold topic and part of email content. After marking it "as read" topic changes to regular but part of email content is still bold. Tryed to reinstal TB, does not help. I`m using Manjaro Linux and Thunderbird 115.9.0 How to change this ?

Hi all, When trying to install Thunderbird add-ons in my (main) profile, many add-ons are listed as being "not compatible to your version of Thunderbird" (which is TB 115.9.0 on openSUSE Tumbleweed; installation is still possible via xpi file). But in a newly created test profile (on the same system), the add-ons are listed without this "error". Please see attached screenshot with both profiles side-by-side with ImportExport Tool NG as an example. Thus, it appears that my main profile has become mangled up somewhat. (Which is not completely surprising given that it has been in continuous use for about 20 years.) Do you have any idea what may cause this issue and / or how to clean-up my standard profile? the read status of a conversation thread does not translate through the top level message, this makes int hard to find unread messages when the conversation thread is folded in.

Export is a mouse driven exercise and I now know I must export the calendar separately.

How can I script or batch thunderbird export of mail and calendar in a unix shell.

I've had this problem since Supernova came out and it drives me nuts.

It has nothing to do with sorting or threading. I've read dozens and dozens of support threads about that. This problem has nothing to do with that.

Issue: There does not seem to be a way to force TB to use a default user-defined column view. The way *I* set up my columns is: Star/Attachments/From/Recipient/Thread/Subject/Received/Size. Other users will have their own preference on which columns to display in which order. I know I can change the displayed columns and replicate that to existing folders, cascading down for the account view. That's great.

However, whenever I create a new folder or change the name of a folder it will revert back to showing the columns TB used before. Same when I move a folder from one subfolder to another (which I suppose amounts to changing the name, in a way)

I wish there were a default I could set so that ANY new folder I create wherever in the account will have the same columns displayed. And that the columns displayed will stay the same when I change name of a folder.

I've also looked for an add-on that might accomplish this but could not find.

I just upgraded to MacOs Sonoma 14.3.1, and all of a sudden my "normal" Thunderbird notification sound became an obnoxious, loud sound that I can't stand. I went into Thunderbird sound settings and discover that the incoming mail "play the following sound file" box option is greyed out. It seems like Sonoma wants to do it's own thing... I've tried going into my Mac's system settings, and under "sound," I can choose various alert sounds, but none do anything to change the Thunderbird notification sound. I called AppleCare, and they don't seem to know anything about it yet. I guess more folks need to bring Sonoma notification issues to their attention asap... My question: Is there a way under Thunderbird's (v115.7.1) sound settings to "un-grey-out" this "play the following sound file" in order to overide what the new MacOs is doing? Thanks, Jack

Thunderbird, with the latest update, will decide on its own who moves some inbox item or two to the archive file without me doing anything. When I discovered the emails in the archive file I can move them back to the inbox without any problem but I would like to stop Thunderbird from sending anything to the archive unless I tell it to do so.

I would appreciate any insight I could get from anyone on what may be going on and how can I resolve the problem.

I have Thunderbird 115.7.0 and my Menu button does not work, I click on it and nothing happens. I'm using Windows 11 and this is just one problem I have since "upgrading" to 11. I can't find away to have Thunderbird to the inbox and I can't dd extensions(I think)without the Menu button. I should have stayed with Windows 10.

Hello, I have a problem with printing in Thunderbird. When i try to print out the email, it prints the header and header only. The actual body (data) of the email will not print. Its only on this one profile, same pc another thunderbird account and works perfectly fine. The account have over 40 thousand important emails so they need to stay. Troubleshooting mode does not help too, same thing. Sometimes when it's plain html it will print but doesn't print tables. It just prints header (sender, receiver, date, etc), black lines how should the table look like but without any data inside. Same thing into PDF as well.

Thunderbird 115.8: RSS message body reverts back to "Summary" after setting view as "Web Page" after exiting program and starting it back up again. What am I doing wrong? Running Windows 11 23H2.

Dear Mozilla, My email folder inbox says I have 1 new email, but I cannot find the email in the inbox window. Even when I filter for new messages I can't find it.

Also my new message count used to be blue. Now it is grey. But then goes back to blue when other emails come in.

Not sure if I accidentally blocked an email address or changed some settings. How can I fix this?
