I would like to change the density for the messages list (thread row) and provide a custom value there. e.g. 40px;

In many places, people are showing a solution such as:

   height: 40px !important;

} ```

But it doesn't work properly. When there are a lot of messages and you start scrolling, then the scroll stops working properly, you can't select messages, the whole thing goes crazy. This is the case on Windows, perhaps on Linux there is not this problem (I do not know).

I tried to use `line-height` instead of `height`, unfortunately the problem still occurs.

My Vision is getting worse and I can't read small print any more. I need detailed instructions that someone who can see the fine print can use to help me make the font bigger. I just wish it was as easy as it was in my browser..

When I'm sending mails through gmail - they are sent as seen. When I'm sending mails through Thunderbird - it's changing them after I click send. If I want my line to be broken - I'll break it myself. I don't want my emails to be narrow as Italian streets. Especially not silently in background, and I get to know this when someone replies with quote or I check sent mails manually.

There are guides for previous thunderbird versions, but not for Supernova.

How can I see the full mail adress in my list of received emails (instead of just a name)? It's kind of a security issue, since everybody can just pick any name. My friend Robert can send me a mail showing his name is PayPal. It's an open door to scammers and deception!

It seems like there were add-ons in the past "Show Adress Only" or "Full Adress Column" but they're not supported by new Thunderbird versions.

How come an add-on is needed to show such a simple and already received information? There are so many things that can be displayed but this important one seems missing. I would feel much better if I could see the real mail adress for any mail received without having to click on it. Thunderbird would feel more professional.

Are there any other supported add-ons to enable it? Why doesn't Mozilla add this function?

Can't sort emails by date - Setting selections frozen on "Subject" under "Sort By" (115.4.2) Only affects one email account, but not another. Only recourse is to sort by "unread" to get new emails - otherwise old subject emails display in the inbox.

Please tell me how to remove the notice of new emails that comes onto my computer when I'm working with a different program. It's very distracting and annoying. Thanks.

I am afraid that I am not at all happy with the new version of Thunderbird. It may be that as I get used to it I will find some of the new features helpful, but right now I am more concerned about what was taken away that was helpful:

1. I keep getting 'not responding' -- especially when trying to set my theme 'yet again (and again, and again)!!!! I am mostly shut-in due to illness and the themes make a difference emotionally compared to a stark 'black and white'. Furthermore, what is the point of having TB themes when they don't hold -- I often have to re-set mine several times a day
2. tabs are now hidden -- I need to colour-code messages so I know which I need to get back to soon or can wait. Having them hidden under that new right arrow makes extra steps to do so
3. the row of custom colours no longer hold: what is the point of being able set a row of custom colour if they don't hold!!! I used different colours to indicate different response in a thread -- thereby having an immediate way to see the order of responses.
4. I need layers of sub-folders -- often to add a new name to a group I belong to, or a new year. I have been asking again and again over several years for the ability to create a new sub-folder WHILE one is moving an email from the inbox to a folder or sub-folder. Having to 'go' to the folder first, make a new sub-subfolder, return to the inbox, and then move the email is an unnecessary waste of time.
5. 'a picture says a thousand words' -- emojis are so useful in this way, especially when one is tired or can't think of the right words to say. This feature was taken away years ago, and I wish that TB would bring it back. The minimal 'yellow faces' are minimally useful.
6. The 'signature switch' button is in the wrong place -- exactly where one would normally click to get back into TB after doing something in another program. It needs to be moved over to the left, or placed somewhere else.

It seems to me that the TB functions (at least the ones that I need) are getting less and less useful and increasing 'cognitive burden'.

Sorry to be so negative, but I do wonder who TB is trying to please/appease -- it is not this user.

When I navigate to the hamburger menu->View I see only Toolbars, Layout, and Folders - no Sort by option. I dislike the threaded view and would like to eliminate it. What should I do? (Version 115.4.2 64 bit)

It seem like since a recent version update of Thunderbird, I have to confirm every email deletion. Before it would simply delete and move into the Trash. If I really wanted it back, I could get it back from the Trash. Why does it now ask me EVERY TIME I delete an email. I used to be able to just press the delete key for a message to go on to the next message. If I accidentally deleted something I'd go find it in the Trash.

Why does "Move to Trash" have to be confirmed now?????

It slow my mail reading down incredibly.

Who added that as default option and why???

Before TB 115, when viewing my Inbox, if I pressed Enter with a message selected, it always opened it, or so I believe. Now, sometimes it opens it, sometimes it deletes it (aahr!). Is it now doing Redo on Enter-key? If it's a change, I hate it, because it can be destructive rather than just inconvenient.

I have set up several folders and subfolders, with auto filtering in my Thunderbird. When a new mail goes to a subfolder that is nested in two or more folders, the display for new message on the side does not appear. For Example: "Grantparent Folder" (1 new mail)

     |-> "Parent Folder" (doesnt display the new mail is here)
            |-> "Child Folder" (displays there is a mail here after i open up the Parent folder)

This is a problem because there a several Parent folders and I have to open up each one of the in order to find in which Child Folder the mail went to.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

See the subject. I just set up new contacts and want to show only their name as recipient of emails. However, when I do a test email, the recipient's email address continues to show up with their name when sent. This really sucks. Why won't it accept my settings?

Running Thunderbird 115.4.3 (64-bit). I can't locate the setup and settings for my printer(s); that is, I cannot select the printer, specify single- or double-sided printing, print quality, etc. Under the Config Editor, I can see more than a dozen settings for my default HP Inkjet printer, but Thunderbird must have set all this up for me; I have no idea what most of the listings pertain to, and no other printer, like my PDF printer, show up there. I'm used to a Print Preview screen where the printer and its parameters can be set, but when I do a Ctrl+P, Thunderbird takes off and starts printing immediately on the default HP printer. Can someone give me a clue? Thanks.

I have update few weeks ago to the new version and the layout in the message body is kind of big! like the pictures that come in they are big. How do i make them smaller view? See attached picture.

The new update is a disaster and almost unusable. The biggest problem I have with it is that the Message pane is now reduced to a size that is uncomfortably small. This could be ameliorated if the Message List pane could be shortened, as in previous versions. The current pane cannot be reduced to less than 8 messages in the list, previous versions allowed for far fewer.

Yes, there are several options available to change the layout, but they all have even greater issues.

PLEASE CHANGE THE MESSAGE LIST PANE FORMAT SO THAT IT CAN BE REDUCED TO DISPLAY A SMALLER NUMBER THAN 8 MESSAGES!!!

I want for my email to come in according to who it is from and the FROM option seems to be grayed out and not accessible to me. How do I change/access this option? Please advise. Thank you.

There is no longer a mail toolbar and it doesn't show up in the toolbar menu. I am not very tech savvy so don't understand what a unified toolbar is. Anyway, I wanted to tag a message and can't find a way to do it. Thanks for any suggestions.
