I did not find this exact question after looking through multiple pages. I have two email accounts, that is easy enough I followed the directions online, and almost had this set up.. But then I realized I did not know how this would work. I want/need the two to be kept separate. In other words I don't need the first email displayed be from my personal account, and the second from my junk account, the third fourth and fifth from personal, etc....Ok, just hit me, I need them under separate tabs, that's what I've been trying to think of.

Is that how it will automatically be set up, or can I even get it to do that? If so how?

I have been using Thunderbird for many years, and really like it - until two recent updates (sorry!). I am running Ubuntu 22.04, and Thunderbird 115.4.1. One now has a column taken on the left which is unnecessary, and a section at the top which is above the menus with e.g. File... but I would like my File menu at the top, as it used to be. The second issue is more frustrating - the search facility, where one can find the emails being sought, allows me to search by many options, and I was able to display the results sorted by subject, size or my normal was by date, but I never use the message threads as that is rarely of interest, and I can sort on that using the message subject if needed. Now, when I search the results are ONLY in the message threads, and if I try to sort by date, I lose all information, and the ONLY option is to see the messages by thread which is no use to me! How can I restore good old Thunderbird - the version I enjoy using (or have the functionality I had restored)?! Many thanks,

I am trying to add a MS365 mail account to Thunderbird 115.4.2 and keep getting a mail fail message, telling me the login failed, I am receiving mail into this mailbox without issue but sending doesn't work. I get an error message with 3 options, retry, enter a new password or cancel. Enter new password doesn't work.

I have set up , as far as I can tell, correctly, the password on the account works for incoming mail. The default smtp server for this mailbox is correct: smtp.office.365.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Oauth2 and my correct mail address for this account. Any thoughts as to what I am not doing?

I work with my tabs a lot. When I open an attachment, Thunderbird opens a new tab and buts the content of the attachment (pdf) into a new tab. Often I need to save my work and stop working that day, and just let my computer go into sleep mode with Thunderbird still open in windows. In the previous versions, I could just start working the next day, and all my tabs are populated with the attachments and information I left open the day before. With this new update 115.4.2 (32-bit) it does not retain any of the information in any of the tabs that were previously left open. It only happens when the computer has been sleeping overnight or for an extended period of time. If I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up pretty quickly it keeps the tabs just fine. Very frustrating

I somehow activated the number of emails and their volume used and can't find a way to undo this. This ad annoys me. I have win 11/64-bit and Thunderbird 115.4.2 (64-bit) running

Does "remove account" under "Account Actions" remove just that account or all of them? In other words, I have 4 accounts (email addresses). Will I have 3 afterwards?

I am trying to set up MailerLite for my website email list. Whenever I send the verification email from MailerLite, it doesn't reach my inbox for my custom domain email (hosted on Thunderbird). I've sent emails from MailerLite to other emails, no problem. I've sent emails to my inbox, no problem. Do you have any suggestions for why MailerLite isn't communicating with my custom domain email? Thanks!

When I'm on a website with an Email Link (Example: Support) and I click on the Email Link nothing is happening. Before the Supernova "upgrade" any Email Link would automatically open to my Thunderbird Email Account Email. Now, nothing.

I found a Mozilla Support Post for Windows 11: Apps>Default Apps>Thunderbird>MAILTO, but it is already set to Thunderbird.

Does anyone have a Fix?

My Thunderbird standard display has the message displayed below the list of incoming messages. This message pane take up "Several" lines of display and also duplicates the information in the above message window. Its a waste of space and the actual message has to be reduced in viewable size cause the header block uses it all up.

I would like to change the density for the messages list (thread row) and provide a custom value there. e.g. 40px;

In many places, people are showing a solution such as:

But it doesn't work properly. When there are a lot of messages and you start scrolling, then the scroll stops working properly, you can't select messages, the whole thing goes crazy. This is the case on Windows, perhaps on Linux there is not this problem (I do not know).

I tried to use `line-height` instead of `height`, unfortunately the problem still occurs.

How can I set Thunderbird 115.4.2 (64-bit) to have html composition after a normal click on "+New"?

My copy of Thunderbird 115.4.2 (64-bit) DOES NOT offer in settings-> Composition a "Compose in HTML" choice. (It does have an HTML Style setting.)

I can only compose in HTML by ditzing around with special "hold shift" when clicking on the +New button.

WHEN RECEIVING A NEW EMAIL, I GET A MESSAGE: "ONLY THE HEADERS FOR THIS MESSAGE WERE DOWNLOADED FROM THE MAIL SERVER", THEN I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE REST OF THE MESSAGE. HOW CAN I CORRECT THIS?

Using Gmail Account we have the a) Inbox and b) All Mail.

If any unread email it shows the number of unread emails next to the inbox but NOT next to in All mail. In Thunderbird it shows the number of unread message next to Inbox and All email.

how can we replicate so it behaves like Gmail - so it does not show the unread message next to All Mail

This started two days ago and I've been searching the web for solutions, but all I get are outdated solutions that won't wonk on my current Thunderbird version 115.4.2. When I open the Thunderbird window, two smaller windows open asking for me to enter the passwords for the two att.net accounts. I assumed they meant my AT&T passwords but when I entered them they came back as "failed". I then tried the "master" password I put in several years ago (which I have never needed to re-enter) and that didn't work either. I am attaching a photo of what comes up when I open Thunderbird. You can see the two boxes that want me to enter the passwords but I have no idea what to enter. If it wasn't my master password or my AT&T passwords for each account, it must have been something I used when I installed Thunderbird ten years ago that somehow got deleted or lost.

I downloaded another email client to use temporarily until I get my Thunderbird fixed so I can not get my emails, but I hate this new client for a lot of reasons that are irrelevant here. I hate this new client and I need my Thunderbird back. Can anyone give me any idea on how to find the right password or to change the password so it will work again?

I keep getting the following error message when opening my Thunderbird e-mail desktop application: Sending of username did not succeed. Mailserver pop3.mail.dk replied: invalid command

What could the problem be and what is the solution?

My Vision is getting worse and I can't read small print any more. I need detailed instructions that someone who can see the fine print can use to help me make the font bigger. I just wish it was as easy as it was in my browser..
