Dear all, I have a couple of calendars on the disk as network calendars (file:///...ics) with offline support, and I just realized that I cannot delete any event. These calendars are not read-only, I can see the option delete, both with right-click on the event and double-click to edit the event, but after pressing delete, the event remains on the calendar. Just pressing the delete button on the keyboard after selecting the event has the same behaviour. If I try shift the events from one calendar to the other, they do appear in the new calendar, but they do not disappear from the old. I have restarted Thunderbird, and also tried this on another computer with the same results. Both szstems are Windows 11, Th underbird 115.10.1 I would be very grateful for any suggestions

I have 4 different email accounts, all managed by IONOS. These have all been set up under thunderbird OK. But when I send an email from 1 of these email accounts I always have to enter my password for that a/c. With all the other accounts, this is not necessary. I do not use Thunderbird or Firefox password managers. I assume that I must have made an error in setting up the outgoing details when setting up that particular account in Thunderbird, but I cannot find a way of checking if that is the case.

After updating Thunderbird to 115.5.2 I receive an error when I check (get) messages of my gmail account : 'The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and size......'. However, the messages do come in and so the error turns out false. since the authorization (OAUTH2) credentials are accepted.

I have my server settings check messages from startup; every 5min; automatically download new messages. That works fine. Again only when I goto "Get Messages" the error shows up.

What is wrong here and ho do I fix this? Thank you

I added a CalDav calendar to Thunderbird that is hosted on a Nextcloud instance. While the calendar view looks decent, the tasks view is completely bloated with old, already completed tasks, some even from 2023. I selected "open tasks" or "current tasks" (? German translation) from the menu on the left side. It's not that all of the tasks are misclassified: When I go to completed tasks, there are hundreds of (correctly) completed tasks listed, but still.

Furthermore, the sub tasks of a main task are not grouped. Is this a known limitation or am I missing some configuration?

In general, as of now, the task view is pretty unusable for me. Anything that I can do to help debugging this?

Question: How I can access shared folders in Thunderbird?

Office 365 business. I can access admin portal etc:

portal.office.com/adminportal

And also I can go to Exchange admin portal via this. So, in my opinion I can use all deep settings also.

Office 365 licenses (full) for name.lastname@company.fi. Portal show "Office 365 business standard".

I create also shared folders. Today shared folders found from "Teams groups". Log in to portal.office.com/adminportal, "Teams-Groups", and then "Shared mailboxes".

My conf: Office 365 business standard found name.lastname@company.fi. ("john.smith@company.fi", "alice.brown@company.fi" as example.)

Shared mailboxes sharebox1, sharebox2, so, it is possible receive email sharebox1@company.fi, sharebox2@company.fi etc. (in real life share box names are bookkeeperteam@company.fi, orders@company.fi, helpdesk@company.fi etc etc.)

CONFIGURATION IS FULLY WORKING. It is, in Outlook it is possible receive and send emails, shared folders with messages are available etc.

HOW I can add shared folders to Thunderbird? Clean install tested.

1. LIcenced mailboxes work properly in Thunderbird. Tested.

And smtp: smtp.office365.com, 587, starttls, oauth, name.lastname@company.fi.

This configuration work properly, and it is possible receive and send email from Thunderbird.

SHARED FOLDERS

It is not possible add shared folders.

Server: outlook.office365.com, 993 Username: name.lastname@company.fi/sharebox1 (where name.lastname is real working account name, just same as in position 1- working account. Also this sharebox1 work in outlook.) Connection security: SSL/TSL (no difference is it this or stattsl) Auth: OAuth2

(I am sorry, all my systems are native language, so I must translate---)

OK: Now I try use this shared folder. It is visible in Thunderbird. But immediately thunderbird open Browser and ask password: "name.lastname/sharebox1", wrtite password. Now I put same pw as in this account (name.lastname..). "Password wrong." I try empty password. I try account password.

SO: HOW to add shared mailbox in Thunderbird? This information "name.lastname/sharebox" not work. Is it any other method? Or any Exchange setting modification make this?

Dear all, is there an option to have Thunderbird sync network calendars once upon start? I have a couple of large network calendars and repetitive syncing causes performance problems, but on the other hand, if I set sync to Manual, Thurderbird does not sync upon start and shows only the events that had been cached locally (off-line) in the past, but not any events meanwhile added to the network calendar by other clients. Thus, I either have to remember to manually sync once every calendar after each program start, or I have to activet syncing every xx minutes, which causes the programm to periodically freeze for some time (during syncing). Is there any good solution to this? Is there maybe an option in the config editor "sync upon start"? Thank you very much.

Bug forever (years, versions, reinstallations).

Failure by filters whose action is to DELETE. As stated in subject. Uncomplicated.

Other filters work (they distribute msgs into specified folders).

I have Thunderbird 115.10.1 (32 bit) and Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit.

The reminder function quit working...nothing at all

I'll add an appointment ask for a reminder, but nothing happens however it used to work

I used to get a reminder email as well as a notice sent to my phone, but now nothing to include the folks I have invited to the event. No reminders for anyone. I have checked Notify Attendees and Separate Invitation per attendee on the Edit Event pop up the by nothing I do seems to work.

The goal is to get the reminder to the phone screen(s) and emails.

Poczta Thunderbird nie ściągą nowych wiadomości, usuwane teraz stare, wracają do folderów głównych. Przy odbieraniu wiadomości pojawia się komunikat jak na zdjęciu. Ostatnia wiadomość pobrano ok. 100razy.

Thunderbird on my top of the range Win11 laptop was working perfectly until it self-updated to 115.10.1 a couple of days ago. Accessing messages already in the various folder is fast as usual. Unfortunately anything like deleting, downloading a new message is excruciatingly slow : several seconds to click and delete in the inbox. Several seconds to access a message just downloaded. The first time it happened I had a whole bunch of messages deleted because the I kept clicking when I saw no action. It seems to me like it has problem updating the messages in the inbox. Very painful for something that was working so well.

Just switching between inboxes can cause up to a 10 second delay with Thundebird "not responding" with the spinning wheel. It has been like this for the last few laptops I've had and through all the updates and I am getting ready to call it quits. I have had a few emails that did not show up in the inbox listing, so the message count at the top indicated more messages than were listed. Doing a search showed them, and by moving them from the search results to another folder, and then re-searching and moving them back, caused most of them to appear. But not all - I still have a message count of 20, but only 19 listed, see photo 1. Photo 2 shows the hidden email (from Barry Chandler). So the email is there, it's just not visible!

After importing events from the old ics calendar into the existing CalDav calendar. TB sent invitations out to all attendees, even for past meetings. How to avoid this?

in my 'podcasts' folder I have ~2 pages of folders of the type feeds.json-xxx.corrupt where xxx is some number, see attached image.

With the intention to re-subscribe to my feeds later, I have deleted all other folders in my podcasts folder. Trying to simply delete the feeds.json-xxx.corrupt folders did not work. How can I get rid of them?

(I am using the portable version of thunderbird)

Since last update, Reminders pop up window will not close as before when the reminders are all cleared. Have too manually close the window. Saw this was an issue many versions ago that seemed to be cleared after an update. I could find no way to "fix" the issue. Is this a new bug?
