Explanation (if you had any questions why this feature would be needed at all): This is a great way of sorting/viewing your emails by people rather than individual emails, while also maintaining the sorting of emails by date:
- it shows whom you received an email last, thereby allowing it to be your default view, - keeps your inbox clean and neat, automatically, - makes it easy to see what is important and what is not, - implements better threading (because threads based on subject lines fall apart very quickly), - separates commercial emails from emails from friends and family without filters, and - allows for very quick cleaning and organizing of emails, if you wanted to put them in folders or delete them.
Some email clients implemented such feature in the past, sadly they are no longer available, not available for Linux, or no longer supported (Poco Mail for Windows, or Unibox for Mac, for example).
Thunderbird is the most full-featured email client today, with many plugins available, and I was hoping there was a way to do this, but if it exists, I did not find it myself.

I'm still finding the way to settle in Thunderbird app on my Mac Book Pro a Copany email that is from Outlook and Office365.
Even if i found the code for the setting, when the process is finalized it is possible to send an email well received for another personal account (i try in this way) but the sent email is not yet registered in proper folder in Thunderbird
The same is for an arriving email by third personal account
My necessity is to store all the communications cause important and cause i DON'T WANT use the web with Outlook.com page open on Apple.

Every year in this season Thunderbird ESR(!!!) switches to a new version. Every year the new version is a lot worse of previous. Every year it introduces a lot of cosmetical changes that tha majority of users haven't requested nor approve. You're incompetent developers. You're ignorant men.
This version has changed a setting: I don't want that Thunderbird update itself automatically but you think that you know what it's better for me! You are morons! Regards

I use IMAP From my browser, I deleted an email and it went on my second "Delete" folder, icon rubbish can, but most of my deleted messages go to my "Deleted Messages' icon also rubbish can. Sent an email form my browser, it went in my "Sent" folder, icon Arrow. I adding a snap shot of the browser, here I think lies the problem.

After Thunderbird upgrade to Supernova on my Windows desktop, the "Mark as" button on the toolbar no longer toggles the status of the message. This was a really convenient feature.
Is there a way to get the "Mark as" button to work as it did before? If not, is there a way I can revert back to the pre-Supernova Thunderbird? It was a perfect program, but now with the change to the "Mark as" button and with the mouse scroll wheel no longer working (just in Supernova, works fine for everything else in Windows), seems like Thunderbird took steps backwards with Supernova.

Why is it that I am not able to search for this email when using an exact phrase that is in the email body? The normal searching works, but I don't use that because the threaded mode is bugged and it seems like another "wontfix" issue. Why is it that mozilla software is so buggy and the bugzilla mods would rather just lock your posts than address these issues?

This is following my previous help request "Mail Toolbar missing in Thunderbird 115.3.1" So the unified toolbar appears to do what I want and it appeared after installing the google calendar plugin Button which worked OK although to the right of the search bar, later in the day after restarting Thunderbird the unified toolbar and google calendar button disappeared completely only visible is the search bar right click only shows menu bar with customise greyed out have looked at a number of replies regarding the issue non of which work - google calendar plugin button is installed but not visible anywhere.
No column headings appear at all!! How can I reset to default headings, that should bring them back?

I tried to customize, but it did not fix anything. If the old well functioning version is no longer available, I will move to another email program.

I place a copy of Sent emails into "Local Folders/SentCopies" to avoid brief retrieval delays after sending (I use IMAP accounts--Outlook and Gmaill).
Trouble is, my tree display of Local Folders includes Both a "SentCopies" folder and a "Sent" folder (apparently the Account Settings for Local Folders in the past was set for a day to "Sent" for "Place a copy...", before changing to "SentCopies.")
To clean up the tree display and make it less confusing, I would like to remove "Sent" from the Local Folder Display, and see only "SentCopies" in Local Folders, (and continue to see "Sent" and also each account in Unified Folders).
My question: If I use Windows file explorer to delete 2 folders and a file from the Profile/Mail/Local Folders...(the folders "Sent" and "Sent.mosmsgs" and the file "Sent.msf"), will the Unified folders and tree display for Unified and Local folders continue to work normally? Will TB continue to track "Sent" items for both accounts in Unified Folders/Sent, and continue to show and update the "SentCopies" folder in the tree display For Local Folders? And will those deletions remove the usless and confusing folder labeled "Sent" in the Local Folder tree display?
