My Get Messages is grayed out, how do I fix? Not downloading messages I searched the answers for this and tried what was suggested and now the Mail Toolbar is completely gone, the suggestion was to Restore Default setting and I did and now my Toolbar is completely gone

Hello there! Please can someone help me? On my pc, lately, when I move an email from my Thunderbird Inbox to a folder, the message does 'go' from my Inbox, but it does not re-appear in the folder. In fact, the message seems to disappear! However, the message tally count for that folder indicates that the message should be there, but it isn't visible. It's obviously been happening for a while but I don't know when it will have started. In the attached image, the folder 'Chatham, Cape Cod' shows that it should have 10 messages in it, but you'll see that the folder is empty, no messages are showing. In fact, all of the 3 folders 1) Boston, 2) Chatham, Cape Cod, and 3) Virgin Atlantic show that they have messages in them, but on opening each folder, each of those folders is empty. I should add that, on my phone or ipad, when I view my folders, all of the messages are visible. It is just on my PC that the messages are not visible. I've uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it, but that didn't help. And I don't know what else to do! I'd be so grateful for help as I'm not techy and, as I work mainly from my PC, it's proving to be difficult not having all of my messages visible in their folders on my PC. I upgraded to 115.3.1 from 102.15.1 this week. I do not understand the large increase in version number, but I have not done any searches. I have a number of complains with this new version.

1) I want to move one message to a Local Folder, and I get the message at the bottom "nn messages moved from Inbox to Tr.ash". The one message I wanted to move remains in the Inbox, and I have to move it again. When I try to move them again, the folder displayed is NOT the one into which I had just tried to save. I have no idea if any messages were moved from Inbox to Trash, and I have no idea how I would find them.

2) The font size in the window is smaller than it was with 102, and there is blank space on the right. Is there a way to increase the font size?

3) I read one mail message and I process it (delete it or save it in a Local Folder). Most of the time, the next message in the Inbox is opened. But sometimes the window advances to a message further down in the Inbox, and I then have to go back into the Inbox to access then next message I was planning on reading.

I hate the way the new Thunderbird version looks, can't get normal number of emails at once, can't read any of them at the bottom of the page. Please give me my old version back. This was a horrid intrusion with no warning that it wasn't just a normal update

I have many folders and sub folders and before the new upgrade each sub folder would show the number of new messages. Now only the main sub folder shows and if there are messages only the first level local sub folders show new messages not the second level and third level.

Emails arrive in duplicate, and when deleted they come back again, and again. This is a recent development although I recall having this happen several years ago, but I don't recall attempting to fix the problem, so it must have corrected itself. Assistance would be appreciated to correct this problem.

I would be grateful if anyone could offer a solution.

I use Thunderbird Version 91.9.1 on a Windows 10 PC. I am in England UK. I have several gmail, outlook and gmx email accounts, which i use in one desktop client for convenience. It used to be MS Outlook, but now I am using Thunderbird. All my emails are setup as as IMAP.

In my email accounts I have many folders, and there are some messages which I need to update regularly. I originally created these messages in 'drafts' in MS Outlook and then moved them to their different folders where i can edit them. MS Outlook allows you to edit messages in IMAP folders, i.e. you can treat them as 'drafts' as long as you created the message.

In Thunderbird, my IMAP messages which I can usually edit in MS Outlook, are not available to 'edit'. They open as templates.

How can i change this? How can I continue doing this in Thunderbird? I don't mind setting all my messages as 'drafts' if there is only one setting.

I don't want to contemplate the other option of moving the message to the draft folder to edit and then move it back. That would be very inconveniet as i have many emails, each with different folders. In a nutshell, I want to be able to edit messages in my IMAP folders, the messages I have created myself.

Any advice welcomed and I thank you in advance.

I cannot see the Trash folder in one of my imap accounts. I have tried all the tips and suggestions I have been able to find using google searches, but none of them allow me to see the Trash folder.

I can see the Trash folder when I access the account with Firefox. The account runs on Google mail but appears as an account at my university. I also have a straight google mail account and I can see the trash folder in that account--in that account Trash and other folders (e.g., spam,sent) appear as subfolders of [Gmail]. This means I'm able to recover items in the Trash folder only by logging into the account using Firefox.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I accidentally ran message filter on one of the local folders in Thunderbird mail box. around 50+ messages/mails moved to 3-4 different local folder which I can see from Activity Manager.

Could you please help in identifying those mails please ? Like mail subject or time stamp etc

Hello i wanted to move my emails storage from c/user/user/appdata.... to d/thunderbird/profile.... results a lost all... i have 2 or 3 email accounts i cant attach the new D/ .../rpfile/8dsw...to others 2 email account only to 1 so i decide to get back ( C/ user/.../profile/8dsw... still in pc ) and get no more emails on 3 account and i if i add the profile file (8dsw...) to 1 email account show me all file associated to the account but nothing in inbox... ahhh misery misery ... Draft System Folder not where it belongs

Somehow the System Draft folder is sitting in a subfolder on my account. I've tried everything to move it without any luck. I need to move it back where it belongs so I can delete the subfolder.

I tried following the instructions given by Toad-Hall on 9/20/22 but I don't even see the other system folders where they are supposed to be (inside the ImapMail folder).

I've tried uninstalling Thunderbird and reinstalling it, but that didn't help. I have no idea how this system folder got into a regular subfolder and it's driving me nuts!

Any suggestions on how to move this folder back where it belongs?

I'm getting the following message when trying to delete multiple messages at a time. Sometimes it actually puts them in the trash folder but doesn't remove from Inbox. I've emptied the trash & did a compact folder. Still have problem.

The messages could not be moved or copied to folder 'Trash on cindyr@neo.rr.com' because writing to folder failed. To gain disk space, from the File menu, first choose Empty Trash, and then choose Compact Folders, and then try again.
