It is supposed that all emails (received & sent) are saved locally in Thunderbrid. I moved my hosting account from one provider to the other provider, I setup same email address as i had with the previous provider and also using in the Thunderbrid. I could still see all the emails but Thunderbird asked me for a new password. Things were ok up to this point but when i entered the new password, all of a sudden all the emails of that account disappeared. Surprisingly when i try to search something using search toolbox, Thunderbird shows me result from all the emails that are disappeared.

I believe emails are still there but disappeared due to some glitch & that need to be fixed in the code. Can anyone please provide me a work around or development can fix this bug & release a new version ?

I recently had to change my email address to a gmail account. I want to continue to use Tb but don't want copies kept on the Gmail account. Is there a way to delete the messages in Gmail without deleting them in Tb.

Dear Sir or Madam,

we are using Mozilla Thunderbird for many years. Since last two updates the button for sending out emails is missing. We tried to activate and to find it but we were not successful. Can you please check the current version for this mistake/error? All menu bars are activated but we also found out that the menu bar for writing emails are not visible any longer.

After the latest update, Thunderbird does not open. On line instructions say to erase some programs in it's file location. Did that, and the program booted. However, today, it will not open again. Can you fix this issue with another release, or should I try to go back to the previous release? If so, how to go back to the previous release without losing all my set up? With the moving of Cox emails to Yahoo would it be feasible for Thunderbird to put an instruction list(with screenshots) of how to get all our TB email accounts from Cox to TB? Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? If just changing server settings what are the settings for the new yahoo? All my accounts are IMAP so if instructions could be made, maybe one for IMAP and one for POP for those who use either. Thank you

I can receive emails but cannot send. The error message I get when sending emails. This began as of the most recent Thunderbird update:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <mjndoug22@me.com>... Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged [70.109.132.97]. Please check the message recipient "mjndoug22@me.com" and try again.

I tried to attach/imbed a screenshot of my SMTP server settings but your Browse button below won't allow the paste.

Hi. I have approximately 26 folders in gmail and 34 filters that sort messages from my inbox to the appropriate folder on the mail server. I am planning on rearranging the filters and would like to know if there is a preferred way to optimize them. For example, am I better off having individual filters (say from several health providers) that end up saving respective messages into a 'Health' folder OR should I have 1 filter that looks for each provider in turn (OR condition aka 'Match any of...' ) then moves them to the 'Health' folder.

Not worried about performance, but more wondering if one method is more efficient than another.

Also, I seem to recall seeing in the filter help pages that it is preferable to have local storage for filters as opposed to having the mail server sort them out. Why is that?

I have come across an issue when replacing hyperlinks in emails.

The scenario is: I have an email that I have sent that includes a link (a zoom meeting).

I wish to send a similar email so I go to my sent items, find the previous sent email, and highlight, copy and paste the contents of the email that was sent to a new composed email.

I then copy the new link, highlight the existing link and paste the new link in its place.

I then confirm that I have the correct new link showing - I can see the meeting number within the link and it matches the new link.

However after sending the email, it is then converted to a hyperlink, and when hovering the mouse over the link, it shows the destination as the previous link that has been deleted.

This only appears to affect the html version of the email, so the plain text part is still correct.

Understandably, the problem isn't immediately noticeable as the link still looks correct, and it is only when clicking or hovering over the link that the discrepancy is evident.

I realise (now I am aware of the issue) this can be resolved by deleting the previous link first, then pasting the new link separately, but it would be helpful to know if there is a way to prevent this happening in the first place as it means having to remember that Thunderbird is quirky with swapping links.

Please can you explain/offer advice as to why I can still receive email maessages on my mobile phone as they arrive/are sent but since 1st May, no messages have been received on my main computer inbox on the main Thunderbird in letters inbox. until that time, it had been working normally. There is always a discrepancy between the number of emails I am receiving vs. what I actually receive. For example, Thunderbird will say "receiving 4 emails", but only 2 will show up in my inbox. The number I receive is always less than the number that Thunderbird claims it is processing. Sometimes I will receive none, even though Thunderbird says I am receiving 5 emails, etc.

I do not have a JUNK/SPAM file where things might be moving to, there is just no record of these missing emails.
