Hi, I am trying to login to my emails and after entering my password the following message comes up message comes up. 'Login to server mail.optusnet.com.au with username dianne.hill failed' Can you please help me?

I need to transfer messages from one computer to another. I follow your instructions - export to .zip, file smaller than 2gb. On the second computer, I import the .zip file, the import seems to be successful, then I restart the program and I don't see the imported data anywhere (only Local Folders is created, but it is empty).

Could you please help me? Will be very, very helpful ;)

I've gone into "sort-by" and tried enabling threading. I've tried checking the unthreaded box. Group job related email still just disappears. I can't find received group email in the trash or in the junk. I can't find any evidence in Thunderbird that the group email was received. If I go to a different email tool, there it is. Thunderbird is broken. If I scroll back in time and accidentally scroll past the date of the first group email, there it is. I can't be spending all day scrolling through months to years worth of email just to find out I got a group email from someone today. This is totally unreliable way to find an urgent work email.

Since I updated to the last Thunderbird version, the messages in my inbox are deleted after one month if I don't "star" them. I don't think I changed any settings? Can somebody help me with this?

When I click on the arrow to acquire any emails from my isp it will often say downloading 3 emails or 5 emails or some number, but only one or two come in. I have to hit the arrow again to get more. Sometimes it will say downloading some number of emails, but NOTHING comes in. I don't remember this happening until about a month ago. Can you help?

Am using 115.10.1 Thunderbird on Windows 10. This email account inbox shows one unread message, but I can't find any unread message. Toggled message threads to see if a previous message was unread, but could not find any there either. Have both closed Thunderbird and restarted the computer, but it made no difference. It is bothersome, but my main concern is whether this is indicating some virus or other hack of my computer. This is just a home computer, not on a business network. Do have it on wi-fi. Is it just a matter of somehow resetting the unread message indicator or is it a sign of something more serious?

I just migrated my email from cox to yahoo servers. The cox.net domain is retained.

I had never seen a "bulk" folder with my other domains and was having problems with emails being sent there.

I deleted the bulk folder and it moved to trash but cannot actually be deleted. I also re created a bulk folder. see pic.

Now emails are still going to the bulk folder that is in trash.

Is there any way to fix this?

I am having issues with Thunderbird not retaining my email server and passwords. Each time I want to send an email, it prompts me for the password and then tells me that the email address and server don't match. I have tried numerous times to correct this, but it doesn't hold the information. It also switches the server info between accounts. I have 3 different email account and sometimes only one works correctly

Reaching my end with defects in thunderbird. I select items in the inbox/index of the UI and it isn't updating the email view pane.

Sometimes I select in the index, it highlights the message, doesn't update and then 10-15 seconds later, the UI does a big update like it had hung on something, and it just ignores my selection completely and selects whatever it wants. This is crazy.

I'll add I have a "unified folder" and despite the 3 accounts inboxes included from accounts configured to never auto update, IT ALWAYS does updates whenever it wishes. Again, this is crazy. Like it can't be supposed to work like this ?

So: Is this thing single threaded ? Is the "unified" folder functionality mature and does it work properly ? Suggestions or pointers to fix or research/test what I see is just flat out poor performance when clicking stuff in the UI ?

I really can't believe I'm questioning the basics of thunderbird.

Version is Win 10, 115.8.1 (64-bit), udpating now but I'd say I have found the basic performance to have tanked since the bug UI change to "modernize" it. Seems to me, without exact data to support that I have been degrading ever since. No updates I've made in last few months have improved anything.

Really don't want to leave but I'm about to try using it on Mac and Linux to compare and at same time I just configured all this in apple mail for the first time in maybe 10 years. This is something I never ever thought I'd do.

Last thought, I use same accounts, on iPhone (Boxer) and many iPads. I don't see any performance problems there so I'm pretty confident this isn't the mail servers.

I created a signature years ago. With the last Thunderbird update, the signature font (and image) shrunk in size. I would like the signature to match the font size of the message text, like it used to. I can't find any information about that, or any explanation as to why it shrunk.

Hello and thank you for your help, I am trying to find my old Mozilla Thunderbird, e-mail account my older computer does not work, anymore, I have not used my Thunderbird, e-mail account in over five years, because I am on a newer computer. And could not access my information on the older computer that does not work. I could really use all my information and EMAIL account for Thunderbird, because I have many years of information on all those emails, I can’t find my password, 0r email address for Thunderbird emails, because I have not used my Thunderbird account in over 5 years. My old computer does not work and Thunderbird Email is a great program. How could I get my old emails back? And working. If you could please give me more or less a time, and date, to wait for your response, so I can wait for someone to help me, and not lose that opportunity. It would be much appreciated, so I don’t miss contact with someone that can help me with this matter. I am in the East coast. And thank you for any concern in this matter please help.

I want to customize shortcuts in Thunderbird using tbkeys but I can't find the right command name.

In the description is written: "Most command names can be found in the main command set file of the Thunderbird source code."

But where I can found all/ more/ other command names?

In my case I want to change:

• "Move to previous UI element" (default: Shift + Tab)
• "Move to next main UI area" (default: F6)

I have a Gmail account and Talktalk account, both on TB, and sometimes as a reminder to myself I send an email from Talktalk to Gmail. However these emails do not appear in my Gmail inbox but instead go to All Mail, Important and Unwanted folders. How do I stop this.

Today, most of messages have suddenly disappeared from my TB inbox, leaving only the most recent 105 out of approx. 18,000. I have not performed any operations (compacting, archiving...) that could have caused this.

I immediately invoked the 'Repair Folder' command, which did not resolve the problem. Further investigation revealed that the 'Inbox' file ('Profiles' folder) actually contains only 105 messages - seems like the 'Repair Folder' truncated the file!

Fortunately, all the messages are still on the server. My question: Is there a method to 'force' reloading of the missing messages?

There is no option for message headers under View. How can I see email message headers in Thunderbird?

I Googled how to do this but they all say there is an option in the main menu under View. Maybe at some point there was, but not now. So how can I see the email headers?

I have not had access to my email since the April 18 Thunderbird update, receiving this error message: "After changing password on an IMAP account, the account could become locked due to too many failed login attempts" How do I fix it? I've got a Fastmail account, and have set up CardDav according to Fastmail's guide to get set up with Thunderbird.

Once my contacts synced, I was unable to see my contact lists in the Thunderbird contacts sidebar, nor can I add a list (the button is greyed out). Is this a known issue? Is it Fastmail specific, or a CardDav thing?

Running macOS 14.3, Thunderbird 115.9.0
