I am moving to a new laptop from my older one. I have tried to use Sync to bring over all of my original Settings to the newer machine. However, I can't seem to Sync my Location Permissions from the original machine to the newer one. Is there something special that I need to do to make this happen?

Recently I started having this issue. Whenever I send a tab from my phone into my computer, instead of a new tab opening in whatever window I was last using, a new private window opens and then loads the tab. At first I was only transferring one or two tabs so I didn't really care at the time, copy and paste the tabs into the old window. But when I need to transfer 10+ tabs? how aobut 40? Now it's an issue since you can't just move them. The tabs in my phone are normal too, not private. I have, of course, found no normal setting in either the desktop or android version of Firefox to control this behavior.

I am trying to send tabs from my mobile Firefox app to my laptop firefox browser. When I woke up this morning. I tried to send tabs to my laptop and they all opened up in the private browser. Is there a setting I can change that when I share tabs from my phone to my computer it opens in the regular firefox browser?

When I an issue where sending a tab from my android phone to a windows desktop opens the tab in a private window. This did not used to happen, and as far as I am aware I did not change any settings for this to happen. How do I stop this from happening?

Can I fine-tune sync the way I want?

I would love to be able to sync bookmarks and passwords between two desktops yet sync just the bookmarks to a third device: an Android phone. Why? Because while I want my bookmarks available everywhere, I don't want sensitive passwords on a device that leaves home.

But I don't see a way to do that. I've tried, and I find the passwords end up being synced no matter how I configure the settings.

Nor, apparently, can I export the bookmarks and passwords to a file, strip out the passwords, and import the bookmarks alone to the phone--what I was hoping could be a workaround. I gather one can't import to mobile Firefox. Have to sync.

So I'm back where I started: unable to do what I want to do.

How to make Firefox my default browser on my new computer a Windows 11 computer. I’m to the point where I’ve got a pop-up window, which says sync Firefox on your phone or tablet. I am asked toOpen Firefox on my mobile device. Then Go to the menu and tap sign in. That’s where I am. Now I’m asked to tap “ready to scan” and hold my phone over the code. Unfortunately, my Firefox app does not show a ready to scan option after I get to sign in. Help!!

Firefox stopped working properly this morning. whenever i try and open a new tab firefox tries to get me to setup sync instead of going to the new website. I turned off sync. I do not want to sync with anything at this time. How can i get firefox to work again?

I'm trying to find a solution for having all tabs open across devices. Currently, my desktop has about 50 open tabs that I access regularly. Today, I installed Firefox on my laptop, signed in and initiated syncing. All bookmarks came over, everything looks great, except that none of my open tabs from the desktop browser show on my laptop.

I would like to have identical tabs open across devices. Is there a way to configure this where a new computer being logged in automatically receives all open tabs from the initial device and then tabs automatically sync based on whatever is opened/closed on either device after the initial tabs are identically synced?

I just reinstalled the desktop which needs the mobile phone's bookmarks. If I wipe the phone bookmarks, I lose everything. Backup, how on the phone? Sync, how? The Firefox Bookmarks Sync isn't an exact science and a misstep could be catastrophic!

Here's what I'm looking at on the desktop and the phone, attached. 1. Desktop Firefox Bookmarks Sync window show a 3 horizontal lines (hamburger icon) for iOS Firefox settings. 2. Phone Firefox has 3 horizontal dots (meatballs icon) for iOS Firefox 3. Phone Firefox has my Firefox account logged in and a Settings option, but which one (I choose Settings 4. Phone Firefox Settings shows my ACCOUNT and a Sync Now option, but which one (I don't want the phone to Sync and pull no data from the desktop and wipe the phone Bookmarks (no backups)).

need to replace bookmarks on server not merge them, w/bookmarks on locale device

currently when i log in it merges what is on server w/ what i just reworked and getting rid of multiples ... will have to do this again as i clean even more so need ot know how to accomplish exchange not merger

I reinstalled Firefox on my laptop after it crashed. I also have Firefox on my iPhone. The profile there is up to date. How do I sync that profile to the laptop installation?

Why am I being alerted when I sign in to Firefox to finish setting up my account? I think that I have had an account and already sync my devices for the last decade, but less than a century. When I follow the sync instructions i get put on a loop of needed to "pair from within the Firefox app," on my phone - which I was using when instructed to "open Firefox" very confusing as to what I am doing wrong.

We have a question about bookmarks sync, with specific characteristics, please.

We purchased another computer, a laptop, and wish to benefit from the bookmarks sync between them. However, we're affraid of a backward syncing situation. How can we make sure we prevent that?

For example, say we worked on the desktop for a week, and then need to use the laptop. What should we do when we turn the laptop on and open ff browser, if we wish to sync from the desktop to the laptop? Do we press the Sync button on the laptop? - or will that force a backward synching from the laptop to the desktop? If that's the case, than how do we sync reliabely? And let's say the day after, from the now-updated-laptop to the desktop? Is the safest way to do it by turning the sync option off, and copying the bookmarkbackup folder from one updated computer to the other?

Also, this may complicate things a bit - We use the browser bookmarks in a non traditional way. It's kind of an archive for us. The .jsonlz4 file size in bookmarkbackups folder is 37MB. We remember reading somewhere before, the server backups stores files up to 10MB. So, question is, does the large size or the bookmarks file will affect the synching process between computers?

Hello everyone! Windows 10, Firefox 146.0.1 (64-bit) I'm trying to synchronize my account, but there is no "Sign in to account" or "synchronization" function in the settings menu on the left. When I log in via the command line using https://accounts.firefox.com/signin, I can log in, but neither the account itself nor the synchronization button appears in the settings. What should I do? Thank you!

Good morning, the "Payment Methods" section has disappeared. In its place, I see a link called "Manage passkey in system settings," which takes me to the Windows 11 Passkey section, which I've NEVER enabled!

If I create a new profile, the "Payment Methods" section appears as normal, but when I link it to my Microsoft account for profile sync, the "Payment Methods" section disappears and "Manage passkey in system settings" reappears.

How can I fix this? Thanks
