Newer release of Firefox auto-fill username and password when they should not. I have a web application that has a list of people. Optionally (form is even hidden requiring a click to see) a person can be a user (rare). My username and password are auto filled in ALWAYS now for the person (even when the form is not showing). Can I just change the field names (username, password) in the jsp and have Firefox NOT fill mine in automagically? Or if not, how do I tell the browser that these are normal fields - leave them alone PLEASE (do not auto-fill)?

Turning Off Update Reminders in Firefox

Hello,

How can I permanently deactivate this nagging update reminder in the upper right corner (green arrow over Application Menu button) and frequent pop-ups in upper right corner where I have to repeatedly click on "Not Now"?

I'm not upgrading to v89 because the next update will once again BREAK my userChrome.css code and my user interface (with tabs on bottom and custom button images) will appear scrambled.

I'm quite tired of having to jump through hoops and search for CSS solutions to fix these issues every few updates. It causes me too much anxiety.

I'm sticking with v88.0.1 for the forseeable future.

How can I shut off this annoying update reminder permanently?

Thanks.

Hello. I had discovered that Firefox itself creates a so called "fork bomb" by creating a big amount of sub-processes under the main one (with I can prove thru the attached screenshoots).

Could anyone have a idea how to limit Firefox from opening so many sub-processess, with (wanting or not) are mostly causing that my system runs out of memory and stop beeing responsible to any of my inputs, with forces me to restart the system (similar thing is done by an DOS attack)

I use the Firefox 88.0.1 on Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit)

I'm a left handed mouse user. For editing purposes, I don't use my left hand, I use my right hand. And, generally use the right handed keyboard shortcuts as defined by Microsoft a long time ago. I've notice that some of the short cuts have been implemented, while others are not. It is possible to implement them all, as it's annoying when I try to do a copy and paste operation, and have to .. Left Click .. my mouse to execute a copy operation, while pressing [ SHIFT + INSERT ] to do the paste operation. I would prefer to just press [ CTRL + INSERT ] to copy.

PS .. I've also noticed that [CTRL + END] works, while [CTRL+ HOME] does not.

In the past month or so I have been unable to upload files from my PC to any file hosting/sharing accounts: YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo). Every attempt is either stuck at "Upload starting" forever (waited 24 hours), or part way through the upload will fail with no meaningful information. When I switch to Chrome it works every time as expected. Again, note that so far I have not had any ongoing issues with downloads. The occasional failure, but nothing noteworthy. I have tried removing Firefox from my machine, wiping all folders, caches, etc. reinstalling - nothing fixes this issue. It has continued over approximately three FF major updates. Please assist. Thanks.

Windows 10 Firefox 88/89 64-bit PC It seems there was a compact mode before version 89? I don't know if that's what I want.

I would like to have a simple selection in FF Preferences to turn OFF the Proton stuff. I am not an IT geek and I'm not comfortable doing things like changing CSS code - if I knew how to do that stuff, I'd be using Linux not Windows. Since I'm stuck with Windows, I rely on a good browser like FF v.88 to take care of the technical stuff.

Version 89 seems to be OK with Proton shut off, but I hear this is a temporary fix. I also don't know if shutting off Proton fixed the spacing nightmare in Bookmarks - I lost mine reloading v.88 and haven't had a chance to look for them. (v.89 is on the PC upstairs - this one is still on v.88.)

For some context on the anger at FF's change, those of us who use Facebook on a regular basis were forced into a horrendous update in late 2021 which barely works, and Facebook continuously changes code, fixing what isn't broken. To find that the browser we've relied on for years did the same with no warning is very upsetting.

I'd like to get a message directly to Mozilla but "Submit Feedback" has been shut down for over a week.

This happens far too often, in the course of 9 months or more frequently. What is going on Firefox? v88.0.1 Windows 10

Constant script errors that freeze whatever program I am in, regardless of the option I choose - the popup no longer gives me a WAIT or STOP IT. The box comes up that says DON'T ask me about this again.

I do not want to copy passwords, more than anything, should I create a new profile. I do not want to deal with replacing or losing the file. When I attempted to load two other profiles over the last two days, both times FF crashed. I gave up.

I am NOW in Safe Mode and without errors, and it's hard to know which app is causing the problem.

Is there a new addon that will back up Firefox these days?

Suggestions? Seriously, FF seems to be a whole lot more trouble these days than she is worth.

Thank you.

Dear Mozilla Community,

I would like to know when Firefox will be dropping Windows 7 support? I readed on some websites that Google Chrome will be dropped support for Windows 7 in 15 January 2022 year so I would like to know if there are any plans by Mozilla Developers to drop support for Windows 7?

I don't have computers with Windows 7 but my friends asked me about this because they know that I am active community member of Mozilla but I can't answer because I don't know so this is why I asked you today about this.

Yours faithfully, Piotr

The search engines I've added do not appear in the list after clicking the green + sign in the search box and they do not appear in the list in the options either. I used the "add more search engines" found in the bottom of the search engines list to find the missing engines and add them again, but when I find the engine I want to add there is only the "remove" button. So this tells me the missing engines in the list are still there but not accessible. I tried removing the added search engine and then adding it again but this did not make them appear in the search engine list. Everything was working fine until getting the last update before Firefox 89. Is there a way to fix this???

Is there anyway to restore the format (compactness) of the Bookmark Menus without setting the Automatic Updates to not automatically update and then downloading the 88.0.1 version? I have been a loyal Firefox user for umpteen years – but no more! Without asking, my browser updated to version 89, and immediately, I didn’t like it. It looked washed out, difficult to tell the difference between tabs (I routinely have 30+ tabs open at once), plus it was slower. The biggest “peeve” was when I tried to enter a Google search question in the “Search” box, but Firefox kept jumping up the URL bar. Gawd I hate that! That did it! I decided to revert back to version 88 but you decided you would “punish” me for my decision. I lost all my bookmarks, passwords and preferences. I am a computer support volunteer and I work primarily with senior citizens, however I try to help anyone who needs my help. When I setup a new computer for a client, I usually install Firefox and Chrome, explaining that many people do not like the default browser that comes with Windows. From this point on, I will no longer recommend nor install Firefox. You lost a customer today. Congratulations.

I was really angry that there seems to be no way to actually send an email "TO" Mozilla. Instead, they depend on you volunteers to take the heat for them. If you know of anyway to actually get this information to them, I would appreciate it.

I realize now if I don't immediately allow updates then my ability to start up my computer after shutting down is delayed for ... an hour or more. I don't want to allow updates, as they are becoming more frequent; i can only assume they are in league with the likes of a microsoft update which is, essentially, a fishing device to scan my computer to record my searches and communications so they might sell that information, or, for other more nefarious reasons. i HAVE stopped the ability to update from Windows - internally. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean "they're" not out to get me, right? Funny, huh? There's one other thing, however. I can't communicate with customers. And when I can't communicate with customers, I LOSE MONEY. ... fix it. I don't mean a patch over a patch over another patch. Maybe a line of code? Anybody there?? That's what I thought.

This website might not support the TLS 1.2 protocol, which is the minimum version supported by Firefox. Enabling TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 might allow this connection to succeed.

TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 will be permanently disabled in a future release.

What can I do to resolve this issue, so I can access my NAS? Thank you for you assistance.
