So this visual bug has been happening on my Nightly install for months now. The "Site information for website.com" menu that appears when you click the lock icon in the address bar is basically unusable for me. The menu's header, "clear cookies" button, and arrow button are all fine, but the text in between is covered in globe icons. The "Connection Security" sub-menu that the arrow leads to has a similar case. (See screenshot.)

Huge disclaimer: I am using Shadowfox, which modifies a Firefox install to make UI elements darker. It has made text difficult to read for me at times, but it has never produced any really strange artifacts like this one as far as I can tell. I do have a Developer Edition install with no Shadowfox and it doesn't have the issue. However, maybe this is a common Nightly issue. (I guess this wouldn't make sense since DE is even more experimental than Nightly? I think?)

Maybe this is a problem for the Shadowfox team. Ultimately, the solution I really want is native support for a full-fledged dark mode, with black or gray color for UI elements such as the context menu. If this isn't going to happen and Shadowfox is indeed the source of the issue, I'll gladly let them know. But I thought it would be good to share with Mozilla, and why not the community, too. (Feedback tool is down right now.)

In the past I have frequently used "Take A Screenshot" by positioning the cursor at the 3 dots (vertical ellipsis) near the end of the address bar input area and selecting the now missing function. Presently I have upgraded to Firefox version 88 on windows 10 and can not find anyplace to turn this function back on in the configuration section. SOLUTIONS ANYONE, I NEED THIS BACK?

Note: I want to restore the function under the ellipsis and do not desire to use Ctrl-Shift-S.

Hi there! Some background info: I have a desktop PC. I just got the newest firefox update. ...Thanks; I hate it. And they've altered the way the bookmarks look. So now the bookmarks drop-down menu is so long that I have to scroll down to see everything on it, (I didn't have to before). And what's worse is that sometimes one moment it will be over the Windows taskbar that's at the bottom of my screen and suddenly it will disappear UNDER the taskbar where I can't see everything and I struggle to access anything with my mouse. It's SO aggravating. How do I fix this??

Dear Firefox developers: stop changing shortcuts which users have used on a daily basis for YEARS! It is like you are making fun of users, always changing. After the last update, I cannot find how to take screenshots, the link vanished from where it was.

I had to search where you put it. It was very well where you put it before, why do you have to always change? Is this a type of game? Stop doing it!

So Firefox suddenly and without asking just changed its look into something absolutely... No words can describe level of my disgust, so I wont fill this post by angry ranting.

Is there a way to get the old look back? (preferably without any downloads needed, cos at remote desktops that is not always an option)

Please, don't force me to use Chrome. I hate that browser, but they at least had decency to create skin, which makes it look like Firefox. The normal one, not the new diarrhea all over the screen one.

With this new version, the appearance is very different. The bookmarks are all spaced out, the menus are all the same. I thought the way it was, was very sharp and crisp, and took up much less space. Is there anyway to revert or change back to that appearance for menus, bookmarks, bars at the top, etc.

I thought I'd post it here for other people to find. I run Linux Mint (64 bit) so this may effect Ubuntu as well and potentially other distributions. After the update to version 89 Firefox was COMPLETELY transparent. I saw more of the background than I did of the browser or the websites. After doing some digging around I found I had to enable layers.acceleration.disabled in config:about.

To do this open Firefox and in the address bar type config:about Do a search for layers.acceleration.disabled Double click it to enable it Close firefox and re-open it to verify your transparency is gone.

I hope this helps someone.

I find the updated version difficult to see. I've used Firefox happily for at least 15 years with no problems and appreciate its existence.

But the icons I see look just like the Bing icons - very finely drawn and small - and I can't control the colors. Also, the PBS pages have white rectangles scattered around, possibly unfinished labels

So how can I safely reinstall Firefox 8.8?

Thanks - P.B.

In Firefox 88 the pocket button was inside the address bar. Please check image attached.

Then when we entered on a website that already was in our pocket list, the icon became red and with a simples click, we could remove it from our pocket list, simple and easy!

Now with the FF 89 changes, everything is worst, as you can see on the image, the button is located outside and we do not have that option anymore. The only way is entering the pocket website, searching and removing it.

Please, tell me there is a way to return back the pocket button inside the address bar ? Thanks in advance.

I recently noticed that my Firefox appearance is different than it had been. The top header is white (instead of dark) and the space between lines in the bookmark list is excessively large. I have tried to find the source of this change by changing themes, but to no avail. This change occurred around the time that a new revision of Firefox was installed. Surely Firefox would not have made this change? I hate the appearance. It makes reading and browser use much more difficult. Any suggestions on how to get back the previous theme settings? And if Firefox did indeed make this change, then I say shame on you for doing so without the user's permission or providing an option to opt out of such a change.

This new UI is honestly baffling to a point where I dont understand how someone was paid to design this. No borders or divider between tabs, lots of wasted space, and aesthetic choices I really take issue with. Most notably in this regard the tab not being connected to the web page I'm on, but the way the browser looks when you have many tabs open just makes my head hurt. I get some people enjoy it, but I dont and I dont understand why I'm forced to use it instead of having an option to enable/disable it.

I really dislike the removal of functionality as well in order to make it more "streamlined."

"Fewer interruptions: Reduced number of alerts and messages, so you can browse with fewer distractions." I also don't understand this line directly from the update page. Why wouldn't I want to be notified of something? If I didn't want to be notified, I would close the tab or disable the notification. It is like they are creating problems to then solve with silly solutions when it was never a problem in the first place.

It genuinely feels like much control and decision making was taken away from the end user. I really enjoy firefox and have for years, but I am unsure that I am willing to continue using it after this update.
