Hi II am a relative computer novice and I am confused by the concept of deleting cache and cookies.

I am having trouble with Firefox browser on Vanguard website. I was told to clear my cache and/or cookies.

I don't currently store any Vanguard passwords on my computer.

However, I’m afraid that if I clear cache or clear cookies I will inadvertently remove the passwords for all my other websites.

Is there a way to clear cache and clear cookies without deleting passwords?

When I try to clear cookies and cache etc in Firefox 95.0 on my Mac (OSX 11.6.1), there always remains 811kb, no matter how many times I try and clear it. Deleting the Search history doesn't get rid of it either. Previously, this didn't happen. What's going on please?

I manage a website that uses https for logging in or other sensitive data but uses http for non-sensitive data. Beginning with Firefox 96, users who login using https can navigate to any https page on the site using their logged in credentials, but do not have their login credentials when they navigate to http pages. It appears the cookies generated on https pages are not accessible from http pages using the latest version.

Is this a bug in Firefox 96 or a feature?

Bug or not, I understand the obvious advice would be to use https for the entire site. But our site uses a 3rd party app that does not work using https. The second obvious advice would be to get rid of or fix the app so we can use https for the entire site, which will have to happen at some point. But for the meantime, is there a setting in Firefox that will allow users to login to a mixed https/http site using Firefox 96 or are users going to have to use another browser?

I use Kaltura to record lectures and post them to my course at the U of Utah on Canvas. This semester, Firefox will not allow me to open "my media" where the Kaltura recordings are posted on Canvas. I get the following message: It seems your browser is blocking 3rd party session cookies which are required for the Kaltura application. To resolve this issue, please update your settings to allow 3rd party cookies.

I copied the Kaltura web address 670542.kaf.kaltura.com that I can see in Chrome and pasted it into a Chrome browser and it goes to my recordings in Canvas when I use Chrome. The same site doesn't work in Firefox. How do I unblock Kaltura third party sessions? Thank you.

I never had this problem before until Jan. of 2022. I have to use a different browser to get to the website and complete my task. There is something in the Firefox browser or they made changes/updates. Need step by step instructions. NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE.

Websites frequently pop up a message telling me to approve their use of cookies. If I decline, many times the web page becomes inaccessible.

If I ‘Accept’, does that circumvent my Firefox settings for cookies, either by changing the settings or by putting the website on an ‘Exceptions’ list? Or can I rely on my Firefox settings being unchanged and enforced even if I click ‘Accept’?

Sample popup: “We use cookies to improve user experience, personalize advertisements, and analyze website traffic. For these reasons, we may share your site usage data with our social media, advertising, and analytics partners. By clicking ‘Accept’, you agree to our website’s cookie use as described in our Cookie Policy. You can change your cookie settings at any time by clicking ‘Preferences’.”

The buttons are ‘Preferences’, ‘Decline’, and ‘Accept’.

Thanks.

Firefox 96.01 seems to be blocking access to popmoney through my credit union's website. The error message states that I must allow third-party cookies, but Firefox 96 doesn't have an option to specifically enable/disable third-party cookies. I can do this easily on Microsoft Edge, so I have to fall back on Edge in order to use popmoney.

Copy of error message:

"We're sorry for this error. In order to use this service, your internet browser must accept third-party cookies. Please refer to your browser's online help for enabling cookies in your system. Please try again after you enable the cookies."

Firefox version 96 - I can no long go to Google Drive and have it zip files for me to download. I am getting an error saying I don't have 3rd parties cookies enabled. I have not changed a thing. The only thing that changed is this Firefox update.

I rolled back to version 95 and it was fine. I told Firefox to let me know when I need to update and I decide and then it proceeds to update itself (again).

Any reason why I am getting the cookie error? I checked all my allowances in Firefox settings and in my antivirus, even though I have not changed anything there. And why would it update again after I told it not to?

First, check "DeIete cookies and sitedata when Firefox is closed" from Privacy & Security in the settings.

After that, register the Google domain as an exception with "Manage Exceptions".

When I restart Firefox after logging in to Google once, the Google registration information disappears even though I registered the exception, and I have to log in again.

However, there are some sites where my login information will not disappear if I register as an exception.

How can I prevent my Google login information from disappearing even if I restart with the above settings?

Thank you.

Hello,

I've set Firefox up to auto delete Cookies and Site Data when I close it. (Settings>Privacy & Security>Cookies and Site Data). I want to stay logged in to some of my accounts though so i added the Sites in question to the exceptions (clicked allow and save changes). The problem is, that only worked for one site so far and the others require a new login anyway. No clue how to fix that (the same solution worked in LibreWolf for some reason).

Thanks for your reply in advance, S
