Bus error firefox $ echo $? 135 ``` Sometimes it can be started but not stable Maybe the problem is: problem with about:sessionrestore, everytime I open it, I can see about:sessionrestore page for short, and when it can start up (sometimes in troubleshooting mode), after choose a option, browser crash, and if I open another tag and close it, browser runs as normal.

My firefox has been closing while I am away from my computers. I have a few computer running linux (Ubuntu 24.04) and one in mac osx (Big Sur). Usually, I can start firefox and it will remember my tabs which is annoying but still manageable. However, once in a while, (which happened yesterday), all the firefox closed on all the computers and it forgot my tabs when I start firefox again.

I have already set app.update.auto to false on all of the firefox instance prior to this incident to avoid firefox update would close out firefox itself. So if anyone has any idea of what to check to see why firefox keep closing and/or why once in a while it will not remember my tabs, I would really appreciate it.

I had 6 groups in the sidebar showing when I closed Firefox last night. Today when I opened Firefox there was only one group showing how do I get the other groups re-displayed in the sidebar? I am finding no clues when using the last line in searching help

I've been using alt+a to open new tabs in a multi account container for a long time. Recently that shortcut stopped working possibly with the update to v148 as indicated in this reddit thread.

alt+a is not listed as a shortcut in about:keyboard or in about:addons > manage extension shortcuts or in my ubuntu shortcuts nor in any software I can think of thats running. I've disabled all add-ons except multi account containers and it still does not work. Changing the shortcut to another works fine.

Why would just that shortcut stop working? What else can I do to diagnose the problem?

Some extensions I use have been updated and now ask permission to "Access your data for all websites." What is the scope of this access? Can an extension which facilitates video downloads see my bank password? Can it access data for sites in a different Firefox container? Can it access sites which I use in a different browser? Can it access data for sites which, on my system, are only available to a different user? Thanks for any clarification. [I am running Firefox 149.0 under Kubuntu 24.04]

I set up firefox using my customised user.js, and I have been able to configure everything just as I want except for "Search Shortcuts".

Are there Firefox "preferences" (in the about:config "preferences" database) for the 10 or so "alternative search engine" entries (shown in about:preferences#search)? If not, is there any programmatic way that I can edit these "alternative search engine" entries so that I don't have to manually disable and/or remove them every time I install Firefox on a new machine?

Make amazon product video work on firefox. I am using fedora 43 kde plasma recently updated. I have a Nvidia video card RTX 5060 ti and using propriety Nvidia drivers Video starts and then stops or after turning off hardware accelaration ran intermitantly then stops. In that ip address bar, when you click in it there is a dropdown menu. It used to have all those sites that I look at every day. Recently is has added some others which I almost never go to and has dropped some that I go to every day. Like I went to the national do not call registry to register my phone number. I only went there once, and that was a few weeks ago but for some reason it keeps that one in that menu, at the expense of my regulars. There are a few more like that. there are now 3 like that, things that I have only gone to once, but there they are apparently permanently. How do I remove those I don't want so that it has apace for those I do want?

In an organization that already implements Mozilla Group Policy Templates to enforce various features and settings, how do they set up the Group Policy to disable this new VPN feature organization-wide?

I've checked the existing Group Policy template documentation and can not find any reference to this feature.

Hi! I have a lot of tabs synced in the mozilla account on a device that I have not connected for a while (forgot it at a place far away). Recently I needed to open some of the tabs and while the device was shown in the account the tabs were not accessible. Isn't that one of the major points of using the sync, to be able to see things between the devices??? My reaction - WTF? It's like the perfect lie - hey look we have your device here.... but it is actually just the name. I am so frustrated about this.... why don't you even talk about this? Why is there no warning that my data is going away??? Why is this decision to delete the synced tabs (not the device but only its tabs) from the account happening without any notice, at a time randomly decided by someone? How is that making sense? Why can't the user be informed and make a decision? I think that's one of the reasons why you lose and lose and lose market share, because you don't care anymore about your users, you think all are idiots and you can make decisions for them and restrict their abilities to manage their experience. I know it is free software but it's getting worse until it will become absolutely irrelevant, please stop smoking whatever you're smoking and make more sense with your decisions to add/remove features and alter functionality. Just one more example of another senseless decision - the time options when I want to clear the history. Just 1/2/4h, since 12am and everything.... I am trying but there's no logic in choosing these intervals and restricting the user to only those.... Another one.... the extensions... it's like a dumb game of hide-and-seek to find their options and manage them or to put their icon on the toolbar or somewhere handy and visible so it can be used as it is supposed to be used.... does not make any sense! Ah yeah and the very very old complaint: WHY did you remove the status bar? Lots of info can be added there and it was VERY useful. This was one of the big "WTF is happening with Firefox?" moments.... only downhill from there. I will probably give up on Firefox if it doesn't come back to actually making sense. Not all users are idiots, give them back the power to use your (still good) software in the way they want, stop taking away features and options. And don't forget the power users, take their options away and they will go away.
