I've had major stability issues since this update on my Mac (version 10.13.2). Tabs will become unresponsive and show the spinner icon and sometimes the whole browser become unresponsive. I've tried disabling add-ons, refresh, and even creating new profiles. Sometimes I see a process in activity monitor like Firefox Developer EditionCP Web Content or Firefox Developer EditionCP Privileged Content not responding and can force quit a single tab. Sometimes doing that crashes the browser.

I'd really prefer to keep this as my default browser, but it's not looking likely anymore.

Hello: FF dev build 83.0b5 64bit, w10p. A new odd issue to me. Using ActBlue (political PAC) I sometimes use my regular credit card to make small political contribution. As of 28oct20, this FF stops completing the transaction. I hit the "donate" button, & nothing happens. I have seen a "processing" type msg from the vendor us. promptly - but again, the current page just sits there, the "processing"action & pg don't happen. On 28th eve, I checked my bank acct to see if somehow the donation had been made (I would see the deduction taken), and no, it hadn't. No prior nightly build type update had shown this behavior. I have no other FF on this w10 (no stable, nada anything else for FF). I have made no changes to extensions, plugins or otherwise. I had to go to stable chrome to complete the donation, and chrome did it right the 1st time. So, this is just an FYI, I don't know where else to post nor may I have the rights to post elsewhere. Tx.

and i wanted to try them out, but then i read about security issues if you turn these own, so i turned them off again ( i think i had them on like 30mins)

and i was mostly on youtube?

I'm using 83.0b6 (64-bit) with both an address bar and search bar. Recently, if I type a g into the address bar the second suggestion is "search with google directly from the address bar. Typing an a does the same thing for amazon. Search suggestions are turned off. Top sites are unchecked in the address bar settings. All Firefox home content is unchecked in settings.

Is it possible to remove these "search with" suggestions from the address bar drop down? Thanks.

Is there any setting that I can change to force Firefox to open bookmarks in the same tab that I have open when clicking on a bookmark? I hope this makes sense. In other words, right now I'm on the Mozilla support page writing this. If I click on a bookmark in the bookmarks bar, it always opens a new tab. I want to force it to stay on this tab and go to the bookmark. Thanks.

Hi, I can not subscribe to and receive web notifications from Twitter, Trakt.tv, Gmail, Outlook, etc. Twitter says: "Unsupported browser. It looks like your browser doesn’t support push notifications." and Trakt.tv just gives no reponse after the "connect" button is clicked. I can enable the settings in Gmail and Outlook but never get one notification.

I've tried tests like https://gauntface.github.io/simple-push-demo/, the result is: Ooops a Problem Occurred AbortError: Error retrieving push subscription.

Those web notifications work well in Chrome and Edge. System settings are ok as Firefox shows notifications from Snooze Tabs.

I'm using Firefox 83.0b6, tried Firefox 82.0.2 and Firefox Developer Edition on a MacBook Air 2017 with macOS Catalina 10.15.7.

Whenever I'm in a meeting and if someone is sharing their screen then it suddenly gets zoom in and it's difficult. From past few days it is happening during the whole meeting and it's hard to concentrate.

For a week now am trying to login to my FF account within Firefox in order to sync data. Now when I enter my email and password I get greeted with a message that my account it locked. "Sorry. We’ve locked your account. The confirmation email we sent to <email here> was returned and we’ve locked your account to protect your Firefox data."

Now read along the web that I need to wait 24h (already had) before I retry or that I need to submit a ticket to mozilla bug platform (that I also had but got no reply yet - for 4 days). Not sure what to do next... Trying my luck with writing a message here as maybe someone will take note of my issue. Before anyone asks, I have access to my email that the account is registered with. Also I can access my account from the desktop browser from Windows where am already logged in, but feel that if I need to maybe reinstall FF, will not be able to login again.

Any help is highly appreciated.

I am getting my toolbar on my PC in an customized order. After latest a day the orter is gone and an alphabethic order is in place. The order on the Iphone remains as it is. Any idea what I could do?

Hello. I have always been able to have my WinLiveMail open whenever I clicked a mailto link on a website. Recently that function stopped working. It still works on another laptop, but not mine, so I'm guessing some setting changed, but for the life of me I have no idea what it might be. Running Win7 Pro 64 and the latest version of FF. The general>applications>mailto is set to Windows Live Mail as it always has. I changed it to GMail and it works. I changed it to FireFox and it opens the window offering choices, but it won't open WLM. PopUps is unchecked but I can't figure why it's not working. It used to. Worked for years, regardless of the version of FF running. All the add-ons and extensions have been disabled and FF has been run in Safe Mode and it still will not open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Nothing I find when I 'Google' the issue is helpful, and most of the posts are years old. I downgraded FF to an earlier version and all that did was cause my profile to disappear and really mess up my saved configuration. Fortunately I backed up the old profile and just renamed it to the new one created by the re install of the latest version and all my stuff came back. Just a side note as to what happens when I do click the mailto link, regadless of the site. The top menu banner flashes as I click it and that's all. Not other movement or screen changes whatsoever. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I edit the styles in the browser and save my work. When I try to save styles, I am prompted to choose which directory to save the document to. Not very convenient, I would like to automatically save and replace the document I was working on. How it is implemented in editors (save or save as).

Does the browser have such a possibility: 1. Directly work with html documents? 2. Directly work with css documents?

in the browser i add on colorzilla(color picker) softwer. after drowing something in paint, when i open it in browser to pick the color from colorzilla, then i'm getting popup Temporarly disable Extensions on page.

Hi, I seem to have an issue whereby if i am playing a video on youtube(for example) and then switch tabs or new windows, to lets say twitter(for example). When a video is played on twitter, it will take control of the audio. So the audio slider on a twitter video, will control the audio on the YouTube video. This leads to several problems. For example, if i want to listen to a song on youtube, while watching a video muted or at a lower volume on twitter, i lose sound from the other tab. When i close the tab, i would have to go back to youtube(which audio slider still think its playing) and mute and unmute the audio on their player.

On version 82 Window. Has been existing for a few versions. have tried upgrading to 83.beta with no joy.

so. firefox (on my windows 10 PC) updated itself, then crashed so it could finish it's update. now ALL of my settings are gone. ALL of my passwords ALL of my history.

they are on my phone, which WAS linked to my PC, but that linking was lost, too, i guess because the history shows on the phone, along with the passwords and logins. and i will just cut to the chase here. because the fucking directions on how to relink those devices is gibberish.

how do i restore those items without manually reentering and resaving (which only works sporadically at best) those items?

I guess, it's one of the most asked question. How can i move my profile and the cache location..... and most importand: Why is it not a nativ option in the preference? It's all about speed and security. I use uptodate betaversions on a mac. But that second part of my question is related to pc and mac.

Btw: I know about the cache. Adding the "browser.cache.disk.parent_directory" as a string and adding my location. But i don't know about a about:config setting to move my Profile too.

Good evening, I downloaded firefox developer and I must say that I was very amazed by the wonderful browser you have created, the only problem is that when I want to go to view the credentials, any person can view the password (I use a window login password) .

I ask you to enter if it is possible to verify (if it exists) to enter the login window password so as to have even more security!

Hello, You have to use an asterisk to search a bookmark in toolbar. I think that's not very intuitive. It shoul search without it.

Every time, you want to search in toolbar and see results with bookmarks as well. It's very helpful. Please update this.

I have 5 pinned tabs lately, and many unpinned (20-100s). Recently one of the pinned tabs, Twitter specifically, has been unpinning itself at random(?) intervals. I can re-pin it just fine, it's just a little odd. None of the others do this.

I am running with Tree Style Tabs and per-site Containers (but not Twitter or FB specific container extensions). And other extensions like ABP and NS, but I doubt they relate, while these might?
