Hi, I am not IT savvy, so hope I can explain this well enough.

I use Firefox as my default web browser, but reluctantly feel I need to move away because I cannot resolve a problem I have with Adobe Flash crashing regularly every day.

I have restarted Firefox, but the problem is still there. Same when I restart my laptop.

I have even reset Firefox, following instructions in a thread I found on here. The problem went away for a few days, but is back again. This is so frustrating. Friends tell me to give up on Firefox, like they have, but I'd rather find a solution if I can.

I don't watch videos, so typical sites I have problems with are eBay, Facebook and 'Street View' on Google Maps.

Other info......I am in the UK and my laptop uses Windows 7. I have checked the Firefox Plug-In page, and all my plug-ins are showing as up to date.

Please help.

Vikki

Hi Vikki,
Sorry you are having problems.

I suppose I normally associate those having FlashPlayer problems as being likely to be users watching videos. I hadn't really even noticed street view used Flash Player until now.

I certainly do not get Flash Player crashes often and never in Streetview.

Presumably you only ever get Firefox crashes when FlashPlayer is in use.

Try Firefox in its safe mode either by holding the shift key as it starts or using the menu option Restart with Add-ons Disabled

As you get frequent crashes please paste into the next post half a dozen CrashIDs. They start with bp- and you find them by navigating to about:crashes. Note the text changes to a link on the forum after it has been posted.

Post back and please mention if Safe Mode helps.

I am getting this error often now too. Can occur where a page has a video or link to YouTube on it.

Hi Aliby,

I suggest you try to read the linked articles and see if any of the advice helps. If you still have problems it is then best to start your own thread by asking your own question.

I have the same problem with Adobe Flash player crashing. It's not just YouTube. Almost every website these days uses Flash for something or other. It has gotten to the point that I'm about ready to give up Firefox.

On certain websites, flash crashes immediately. I have the latest flash installed, so I don't have any idea what the problem is.

It really makes Firefox just about unusable for me.

Ironically, the Adobe Flash Player Help page is one of the pages that I can't load without crashing the Adobe Flash Player.

This seems to be a Firefox issue with flash player. I have done all of the suggested things to check and it still crashes. It works fine on IE and Chrome so it is a Firefox issue. Does anyone have a solution???

IE uses a totally different plugin to Firefox. Google Chrome has a built in FlashPlayer.

So yes a Firefox Flash Player problem is different from a Google Chrome or an IE Flash Player problem. You could easily have Flashplayer working on Firefox but not working or not installed on IE. Or no separate FlashPlayer plugin installed and so only working on Google Chrome.

This is an old thread started in the days of Firefox 27, we are now on Firefox 31.

If anyone has a problem please start your own thread using /questions/new/desktop/fix-problems
