Hi,

Recently an icon has appeared on my Add-on Bar (a blue circle with a white 'i' (like an information i)) and it leads to this website:

http://petzichen.de.gg/?ref=quicklaunch

It doesn't open anything. The main title is PEOPLEPOINT and it appears to be a German website and I have no idea where it came from, probably from something I downloaded I guess.

Anyway, this thing is in all my versions of Firefox and I want rid of it.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Cheers, Keith

Thanks for your input madperson.

I had scanned and cleaned and purged my system with Malwarebytes, SuperantiSpyware, Hijack This and even Avast and found nothing.

However, I was pointed in the right direction by someone who knew it was in fact an extension I had installed - Plugin-Checker - the author obviously wanted people to visit his website!

Today, (just before I was about to uninstall the extension) an updated version was released and the icon / link was removed.

Don't you just hate it when people mess with your Firefox?!!

Cheers, Keith

hello, please have a look through all of your presently installed extensions in tools > addons > extensions and remove all suspicious entries (toolbars, addons that you have not installed intentionally or don't know what they are for, etc.).

also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and/or a different tool like the free version of malwarebytes.
