Stopped working on Saturday. Cannot open Firefox

I tried to uninstall Firefox and re-install it but it will not let me says must close Firefox first in order to uninstall. I have not been able to open Firefox since Saturday so I do not know how to close the program if I can no longer open it to begin with. This has never happened before

If you have only one profile try

firefox.exe -safe-mode

do not check-mark any of the boxes
