I like a minimalist toolbar with only two rows of small icons. after the last row with the Google toolbar, there's about an inch of blank space before the browser tabs. I'd prefer to have more space for the webpages.

I tried dragging and dropping and moving things around and it doesn't work. I feel that FF has a minimum height constraint and won't let me make the toolbar thinner. Is this true?

Chosen solution

No, there is no minimum height constraint. I have no problem reducing the UI down to one visible toolbar. Your problem may be with the Google Toolbar.

Oh! It's so weird - but after I customized by dragging and dropping individual buttons to 1 row, it still 'holds' rows for those items.

So I went to View > Toolbars > and unchecked Delicious and Google Toolbar, my two add-ons, and it keps their icons, but deleted all that dead space.

yay!

Yep, you need to un-show or hide the Toolbars that you cleared of buttons.

Your welcome.
