When Firefox updated itself it deleted all my bookmarks and I'm wondering if there is any way to recover them?

That's it, nothing to add except that I am incandescant with anger. My bookmarks are important and it will waste a huge amount of valuable time trying to rebuld them. There was nothing wrong with Firefox as it was, why to people contantly have to mess with something that works?

If you are using Firefox 1.5, unlike more recent versions it does not create automatic backups of the bookmarks.

Thanks Tony. I suppose I probably am using Firefox 1.5. It's the first time I've heard of sofware which wipes out all previous user data on update. Typically, I'd expect an update to leave alone any folders which contain data stored by the user. Am I alone in the world in thinking this is crazy? I prefer using the Firefox browser generally, but this kills it for me. Regards, Adrian

Firefox updates do not normally wipe out user data. If all of the old user data is gone including passwords and user settings, have you checked to see if a new profile was created. The links I posted above show how to do that.
