See Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

Set the pref dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs on the about:config page to a higher value like 30. That will make Firefox wait longer to make a decision that the plugin has crashed due to not responding.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

I have the same problem and I tried that, well my computer is slower so I set it to 40 and it still crashed. When the FireFox security update and subsequent Adobe Flash Player were updated it happened immediately . I even tried to go back and use the last version of Adobe and it still crashes. Every game in facebook crashes, even chat in yahoo. Come on guys, my crops have withered, and my fish are almost dead! lol...Please help!

Only difference is that I am running windows vista home premium and the problem with the adobe flash plug-in just started yesterday. I have gone to check to make sure that it is the current and most up to date version multiple times and it is. I have been sending the crash reports each time it happens as well.

I will try resetting the value to 30 as suggested above and hopefully that will resolve the problem. Otherwise I am going back to IE 8!

Guys, I did what cor-el said It worked on be, but I don't play Farmville it's no longer crashing for me except I put the time-out time more than 30secs so yea O.o

more options

I did as was suggested and changed the time out to more than 30 seconds and so far I have not had the problem. However, I am also getting a link stating to update my firefox ~ but I am just closing the box since I did not start having this problem until I did the firefox update to begin with.

You might want to try 45 seconds for that preference, which what 3.6.6 changes it to.

Read this- http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The+Adobe+Flash+plugin+has+crashed

You're supposed to set it to -1

Not 30, 45, etc but -1 apparently!

I just did that, so we'll see if it works!

more options

I have changed the configuration to -1. still doesn't work. also when I go to help and check firefox version, it says 3.6.12, instead of 3.6.6 that everyone is talking about. This has been going on for 4 days when I try to get on to Farmville. Is there a problem between FB, Farmville and Firefox???? Please help, my farm is going to hell!!

did it work for you? It didn't for me :^{

I HAVE FIREFOX 3.6.12 AND 30, 45, AND -1 DONT WORK :(

more options

I'm guessing this issue was never resolved? I did everything suggested with the exception of upgrading firefox from 3.6.13 to 3.6.6 because the browser won't let me.... tried umpteen number of times hitting the help button and looking for ff updates but it keeps saying I have the latest version. Does 3.6.6 really exist?

more options

Firefox 3.6.6 is an older version (13 - 6 makes 7 versions backwards), so that is downgrading.

PROBLEM SOLVED...for me at least. not sure if anyone else posted this my lazy ass didnt want to read, so i solved it on my own for me. my flashplayer was crashing bringing up that ohhh your computer sucks message send report crap. so the steps i took were

open firefox--click 'tools'--click 'add-ons'--click 'Plugins' tab (at top)--click 'Quicktime Plug-in 7.6.5--click 'disable' ...i hope this helps others out there who had this problem or something similar

This version of Adobe Flash (Mac) was suggested to me from a Mozilla rep during chat and was the only thing that worked: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplatformruntimes/flashplayer10-3/flashplayer10-3_rc1_mac_042011.dmg

None of the 'fixes' Adobe or Firefox have, 'fix' anything. Mine crashes once every 5 minutes... this is bulls#!@ guys. I've sworn by FF for years, but I can't get any work done with this... I'm dumping FF

bullshit fixes! IE does not crash with the whatever version of flash i have install so why Firefox?!

This is flippin' ridiculous! Adobe has never crashed on me like this........I have an older computer and it's really not that much to write home about especially considering it's overall performance or lack there of......

But Adobe has never given me problems like this, it's always been rock solid.....either some new update or patch has effected older systems in some adverse way or some jerk-ass is out there in hacker heaven.

Regardless, "Someone's Got Some 'Splaining To Do......."

I mean what the hell is this, it's happening to me at least three times a day and has for the last week........."You Wanna Do Something?.........I'm Going Nutso Over 'Ere!"
